Happy Sunday!

We just wanted to post a friendly reminder that the library will be closed this week for some upgrades. The library doors will be locked all week. If you need to come in for city business, please enter through the east door.

Today, the world said goodbye to a true legend. Dolly Parton passed away at the age of 80, leaving behind a legacy that reaches far beyond music.

Here at the Kirwin City Library, we can’t help but think about one of Dolly’s greatest gifts — her love of children and her dedication to putting books into the hands of young readers through her Imagination Library.

So today, we’ll turn a page for Dolly.
We’ll read a book.
We’ll encourage a child to dream big.
And we’ll remember a woman who believed that everyone deserves the chance to imagine.

Thank you, Dolly, for leaving the world a little brighter, a little kinder, and filled with so many wonderful stories.

We’ve added a new webpage to help Phillips County residents access training, education, and skill‑building tools. PCED is proud to partner with our county libraries to bring you the Phillips County Library Network—a powerful resource for lifelong learning.

Visit your local library to acquire a free Kansas State Library card. With it, you’ll gain access to the Kansas State Learning Portal, which is now featured on our PCED website under PCED Programs/Phillips County Library Network. https://bit.ly/4aaKGui

Whether you’re looking to advance in your career, learn something new, or explore a fresh start, PCED and your community library is now the gateway to the tools that can help you move forward.
