Please join us in welcoming our newest member, and Elementary School Teacher, Nicole Zupp!
Please read a message from Ms.Zupp below:
Hello! My name is Nicole Zupp, and I am a new teacher here at Byram Lakes Elementary School! I graduated from the University of Phoenix. As a young girl, I always knew I would be a teacher when âI grew upâ. I would play âschoolâ with my siblings and friends constantly. As I got older that love for learning did not stop. I was extremely interested in science! Initially I went into my undergrad as a biology major, with dreams of being a science teacher. While in college I got a job teaching PreK. That job truly changed my life! I loved the sight of a young child discovering something new, or mastering a new skill. Even at the young age of four, children are eager to learn! I quickly decided that I wanted to teach younger children the skills they needed to become lifelong learners. After college graduation, I was hired for a number of maternity leave positions, in multiple districts, one of which being here at BLES. I INSTANTLY fell in love with this school. The administration truly makes you feel valued and appreciated! The teams I worked with became a supportive family, making sure I was comfortable and prepared. The entire building has an atmosphere of teamwork and passion for education. Now I am here as a full time member of this awesome team. Growing up there were times that I struggled in math. I get flashback memories of being âthatâ child in a classroom. I had an incredible teacher, Mrs. Richardson, who taught me that there are many different ways to take on challenging math problems. She worked with me to find the method that stuck. That was many years ago, and yet her memory sticks out to me. Now, itâs my time to be âthatâ teacher. To give each student the tools they need to succeed. Not only in math, but in all aspects of their life!
