Excited for this! See you on the 27th!

We are SO EXCITED for this! We are bringing the garden to YOU. Prukop Farms is providing us with the watermelons, and we are making them available to YOU. All proceeds from sales will help pay for future Master Gardener projects we plan to do!

Pre-sale starts NOW and goes until noon on June 23rd. Please contact your favorite Master Gardener, or all of us through this page or through the email on this flyer for pre-sale. Market pick-up will be between 9 am and 12 pm on Saturday, June 27th at Kingsville Texas Farmers Market!

We love this spot at the Maggie Salinas Pavilion. It is well kept by the Kingsville Parks & Recreation. We get to be near the Kingsville Community Teaching Garden, a Master Gardener Project. And Kleberg-Kenedy AgriLife is excited that we are headed out to our first group event since we formed after graduation.

We will also be distributing information about what we do, as well as passing out information for those that want to join the NEXT Master Gardener Graduating Class!

Come out and see us! We promise it will be a SWEET time!

It was such a joy to go out to the garden and teach the kids from summer camp to harvest cucumbers, peppers, and herbs. Then some knife safety and knife skills to prepare all of it. And then how to make pickles!

And, of course, we got to enjoy the fruits of our labor! I think the kids would say 10 out of 10, totally recommend. 💚

Thanks for the opportunity, Kingsville Parks & Recreation and Kleberg-Kenedy AgriLife! Y'all were so much fun to collaborate with!

I am SO sad to have to do this.

I have been watching the weather snd have been unsure as to whether or not to postpone.

But I was admitted overnight to Christus Spohn Shoreline for serious infections. So, even if the weather cooperates, apparently my body decided not to.

We will reschedule when I am better and able to. Just gives you a little more time to look forward to those pickles!

We had the Boys & Girls Club of Kingsville out last week to harvest cucumbers and make pickles! I think the kids had a great time. And there were enough cucumbers for all the kids to harvest at least a couple each!

I hope the Boys and Girls Club Leaders got some pics too. But here are the kids with their goodies. 💚

Are you a little green with envy? Come out on Saturday for our community class. Learn how to grow and make, and sample some pickles!

Be sure to sign your kiddos up for Pokemon Trainer Academy week. On June 3rd, we will have a tour and some fun, hands on, and TASTY stations at the Teaching Garden for them! and look at all these other fun themed weeks and daily plans! And you can't beat the price!

Plan to come out on Saturday, May 23rd, to join us! Learn about growing cucumbers, harvesting them, and PICKLING them! Then get tasty samples. ALL FREE! We will start at the pavilion, move to the garden to look and harvest, and then take our bounty back to the pavilion for pickling.

Thank you to the kids from Boys & Girls Club of Kingsville for planting these back in February, and coming out for their own pickle class earlier this week.

And to Kingsville Parks & Recreation for the space at the Pavilion to do this class for the community.

We had such a great turn out at the garden on Friday for the Earth Day Celebration. Kids and adults alike joined in planting heat loving seeds and plants in the rest of the raised beds, and all the kids got to plant a soil pots with a seed od their choice to take home. I bet if everyone is keeping their soil moist, you will start to see little green sprouts this week!!! Anyone's poking through yet?

Be sure to to check out the new octagonal picnic table at the garden. It seats 8!

There's been space in the chairs under the tree to read a book and drink your coffee, to sit on the Butterfly Bench and watch the gardens grow. Now there's space to sit and have a picnic or even do some studying. Please enjoy!

Plaques coming for this and the wooden chairs. The funds were donated by local families to have these custom built for the garden by local woodwork artisans. And we are so happy to share them with the community.

Come out and see them in person Friday. The Earth Day event is.going on from 5 to 8 and we will be in the garden. We have plants and seeds you can help plant, as well as soil pots and seeds for the kids to plant and take home.
