We would like to congratulate βChristian Hornerβ on being named the Kingsport City Schools Chief Technology Officer! He will oversee all technology operations for the district, including all programs, services, policies, support, and programming. Mr. Horner will assume his duties on September 21, 2026, replacing Andy Arnold, who retired at the end of August 2026.
Horner most recently served as the KCS Coordinator of Innovative Learning, where he provided strategic leadership in educational technology integration, professional learning, digital curriculum alignment, and technology planning to support student achievement. With 18 years of educational experience, including six years with Kingsport City Schools, Horner previously served as a middle school social studies teacher and instructional technology coach with Rutherford County Schools.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Geography from Middle Tennessee State University, a Master of Arts in Education degree from Trevecca Nazarene University, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education degree from East Tennessee State University with an expected graduation date of 2028.
