Weekend Backpack Program L/B, K/P,WC

Weekend Backpack Program L/B, K/P,WC Provides nutritional snacks to children in the area who need a little extra. Children must be referred to the program by a staff member at their school.

We take donations of food and money in order to provide nutritional snacks for children in need every weekend and holiday break. Volunteers purchase, pack and deliver the bags to the schools each week. A coordinator at each building discretely distributes the bags to the students in the program.

I’m looking to step down at the end of this school year and hoping for someone to step up as the new coordinator and make a smooth transition.

The Backpack program is looking for a volunteer coordinator. If you have a few hours a month to coordinate and are able to buy and deliver the supplies to the packing group once a month we would love to talk to you. We’ve got a pretty good system and lots of volunteers to pack and deliver to the schools. We’d love someone who can carry on our mission and give the kids the best. Message us if you’d be willing to take over this program.

Some duties include:
Applying for some local grants
Financial - buying supplies from fund
Picking up/delivering monthly supplies
Communication with 3 school coordinators
Donation solicitations when needed.
Occasional public speaking when needed.
Maintain page - answer messages
