I joined the board of The League to Save Lake Tahoe, aka Yes, those infamous bumper stickers!

In the last couple of weeks, I got to live my best life in a yin and yang kind of a way. I attended our benefit, an fashion show hosted by , where we raised over $1.2m for our programming!!!

I also got back to my roots & pulled A LOT of teasel, an invasive species growing in one of the creeks on our golf course. (See what I did there?😉 )

The end of the first day of my new year.

😿 Being a fur baby foster mama is hard. I dropped off Atlantis this morning to get adopted by a forever family, which is the goal.

I knew it would be hard, but wow, I was/am a mess. I can't remember the last time I cried so much. I had her for 3 months, we grew together.

I loved our routines, from her waiting for me at the top of the stairs whenever I got home, her napping on the blanket next to my desk, play time on the stairs, naps with her sleeping on my shins, and my favorite was our mornings together, when she’d crawl on top of me and knead my chest until she fell back asleep.

Once we were back at the shelter, Atlantis became VERY shy again. I think it would be hard for someone to adopt her while she’s hiding, so my reassurance, stories, and lots of tears, were likely very helpful.

I got to meet her new mama, she's young, lives in South Lake, has wanted a cat for years, and has been eyeing Atlantis for a while. I gave her my number so I feel very good about that & I hope she’ll call for cat sitting or send pictures.

This little sweetheart cracked my heart open. 💔

One of the most magical nights of my life. Shooting stars! 💫 Can you see the Milky Way?! And the planets? 🤩

What’s better than glamping? Pulling out the mattress and the entire bed platform to sleep under the stars.

I wasn’t afraid of the coyotes or other animals, BUT I’m grateful to have had this experience prior to meeting all sorts of (gross) desert critters.

Full moon. Since moving to the mountains, the full and new moons have started to mean something more to me.

Apparently the full moon in Aquarius encourages radical change in your life.

I collected 1 lb of trash at the annual day after 4th of July cleanup. A small contribution to the 3,450 lbs of trash collected by 300 volunteers + an 8 person dive team + a little robot.

For cleanups, most people think of bottles and cans, but what I mostly found were smaller pieces of plastic, usually food packaging (like the clear plastic that protects the straw for your capri sun).

Day is Sept 17, you can start thinking about where you’d like to make an impact.

This is what the “covid drag” looks like to me. Dreary. Sad. Exhausting. Brain fog is the worst.

I’m reading trip reports, looking at maps of snow melt, excited for everyone else’s adventures. I’m not ready to get out there yet, I’ll just close my eyes for a little.

"It can only get better."

Was cranky this morning and a stranger told me this while trying to help my circumstance.

I agreed & decided to make it true.
And then it was true.

We have so much power when we just decide.

PS. And look at all that POW!!!! First time skiing in powder this season & I got to hike a bit with a friend to some untouched snow on a part of the mountain that I wouldn’t ski on by myself.

Woke up extra early to get some work done in order to get to & make it on time to my lesson.

Well, that was fun! 😉 Got to close down the mountain with ski patrol. We called in extra support to get a little girl down safely, and I got to radio in which runs we closed!
