🌿 WHAT I’M LEARNING: YOUR TIME HAS VALUE TOO

We talk a lot about the money required to build something.

But what about time?

That's something I've started paying much more attention to.

An opportunity might require very little money but demand a tremendous amount of your time.

Another might require more capital but less of your daily involvement.

And some businesses can eventually use systems, technology or other people to handle parts of the operation.

I'm learning that when evaluating something, I shouldn't ask only:

"How much will this cost me?"

I should also ask:

"How much of my TIME will this require?"

Because time is an asset too—and unlike money, we can't make more of it.

SOMETIMES YOU FIND SOMETHING WHEN YOU’RE NOT EVEN LOOKING. ā¤ļø

One day I was scrolling social media when I came across a woman sharing about an online business she was building.

What caught my attention wasn’t some promise of overnight success. It was the fact that she had started without knowing how to do any of it.

She was learning how to use social media to build a business from her phone, with training, a system to follow, and a community supporting her along the way.

That got my attention because I was starting from scratch too!

I loved the idea of learning how to use the internet to reach people beyond my own circle instead of relying only on family and friends.

Could I actually learn how to do this?

I decided the only way I would ever know was to give myself a chance.

So I said YES.

And now I’m learning, growing, building new skills, meeting some incredible people, and creating something of my own around the life I already have.

Is it effortless? No.
Is success guaranteed? Of course not.
But I’m incredibly grateful I was willing to try something I had never done before.

Sometimes one decision can introduce you to possibilities you didn't even know existed. ā¤ļø

If you’re curious about what I found and want to take a look for yourself, reach out. I’d be happy to share.

Individual experiences and results vary. Building a business takes time, effort, and consistency, and income is not guaranteed.

DO YOU LOVE YOUR JOB?

Not everyone who looks for something more is trying to escape a job they hate.

Maybe you genuinely enjoy what you do. You like the people, the purpose, or the work itself—but you also recognize that one paycheck may not be the only thing you want to rely on for your future.

Maybe you're thinking more about retirement.
Maybe you'd love more flexibility.
Or maybe you simply want to learn how to build something of your own alongside the career you already enjoy.

That's one of the things I appreciate about building an online business. It doesn't have to be an either/or decision.

You can keep doing work you enjoy while learning new skills, building an asset, and creating another possibility for your future.

There are no guarantees, and building a business takes time, effort, consistency, and a willingness to learn. But sometimes the first step isn't quitting what you already have.

It's simply being open to building something more.

If you're curious about what I'm building and want to learn how it works, reach out. I'm happy to share. ā¤ļø

SOMETHING I LEARNED THAT REALLY MADE ME THINK…

I've been learning more about assets, income and how much our financial world has changed over the years.

So I decided to look at the actual numbers.

In 1950, the median value of a U.S. home was about 2.2 times the median annual family income.
1980 — about 2.2 times
2010 — about 3 times
2024 — about 3.4 times

That doesn't mean a family could simply save every dollar they earned and buy a house in 3.4 years. That's not how household finances work.

But it DOES show something important:

The relationship between what families earn and the value of a home has changed significantly.

It made me think about something we're learning in our business classes.

For most of my life, I was taught to work, earn a paycheck, pay the bills and save what I could.

I wasn't taught nearly as much about assets, ownership, leverage or building something that could potentially grow in value.

I'm learning those things now.

And the more I learn, the more I realize financial education isn't just about making more money.

It's about understanding what you're doing with the money, time and resources you already have.

What were you taught about money growing up?

Nearly half of U.S. adults say they couldn't easily cover a $1,000 emergency expense from savings.
Having an emergency fund—even a small one—can provide peace of mind and more financial flexibility.
