Future-Ready Facilities Kettering Schools

10/10/2026

‘Tis time! For a community forum 😉🎃 We hope to see you on October 26 for an update on the KCS Future Ready Facilities project. Drive or fly—see you there!

You showed up for our kids—now let’s build their future. Our future. Being the only school district in the state of Ohio to pass a bond issue this spring proves just how much this community values our students and their education. This isn't just their school—it’s our school. KCS needs your eyes, your ideas, and your input to make sure these buildings are everything our kids deserve and more. What features, spaces, or tools will help them thrive? Make sure you complete the survey!

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Do you remember … what it’s like without constant rain?! The educational visioning team continues its conversations and discussions about what our new buildings need to have in order to ensure that students thrive (and stay dry!). Students, staff, and community members are dedicating hours of their time to make sure that our resources are well spent and that the design truly works for Firebirds now and to come.

Congratulations to all! The state report card reflects the results of the time, energy, and passion our Firebird community puts toward its students. Go, Birds!

Welcome to Kettering, COhatch! It’s such an exciting time for Kettering City Schools and the City of Kettering community. The Barnes building is being thoughtfully updated and preserved in the coming 18-24 months to seamlessly blend the past and present. All work is being done by trained adults … but hard hats are tempting 😉 COhatch we look forward to a great partnership!

It takes a village, and we are so proud of ours. Wishing all of our neighbors, staff, and families a safe, restful, and incredibly well-deserved holiday!

It’s a big week for Firebirds as we work to beat Centerville in football and in fundraising on Friday! Support your Firebirds and the four charities benefiting from Spirit Chain resources this year: Kettering Backpack Program, Breast Wishes Foundation, SICSA, and Lesotho Nutrition Initiative. These beautiful flamingos can decorate your lawn for a day with a $25 donation—be the envy of your neighborhood 💙

Students and staff at KFMS are working (and playing) hard! Everyone is settling into the year as one Firebird family as plans for the new middle school building continue. It’s exciting to think of what’s to come, thanks to Kettering’s support!

What work is being done on our own buildings? Lots of small things to ensure that stakeholder voices are heard. Work this fall will prepare for the final design and floor plans.

Back to school and back to work! Progress is being made at the Barnes building. Although not part of the recent bond issue, we’re curious! COhatch is providing an opportunity to take a peek inside the building at a community open house—note that the date has been changed to ⏰ September 10, 3-5pm! Hope to see you there!
