George Marine was founded in 1986 by Patrick Dwyer and Jenny Gore Dwyer. George Marine also owns the F/V Jennifer A. After spending the year together, working the herring fishing circuit from Ketchikan to Nome, and tendering in Prince William Sound, Pat and Jenny decided to get married, and from there, St. George Marine continued to grow. The Brenna A, formerly known as the Shishaldin, was purchas
ed by St. George Marine in 2005. Pat renamed the boat after his daughter, Brenna Adele. In 2005, Pat was also diagnosed with ALS, also know as Lou Gehrig's disease. Remember the Ice Bucket Challenge? That was done to raise research funds for ALS. Never one to back down from a challenge, Pat bought the Brenna A while living with ALS. Refitting and refurbishing the Brenna A to get her working again was a testament to Pat's drive and determination...not only on the dock, but his ALS continued to progress. Pat passed away in June of 2013 from his ALS. Pat's goal was to have both boats fishing crab, together. He ran out of time to see that happen, but we firmly believe that the opportunity provided to us to get the Brenna A. fishing crab, was a challenge thrown down to us by Pat! So far, so good. Thanks Pat. The F/V Brenna A, her captain Sean Dwyer and their crew are featured on Discovery Channel's Deadliest Catch.
