The results are in and it appears that you all have love for both the traditional calendar layout as well as the list view. Thanks to everyone that voted and shared their rationale for their calendar preference. So here is the decision!

The home page will load with the list view displayed by default but users will have an option to change the calendar view to traditional. Let me know how you like it. :)

It was an amazing morning! SkoolZen presented Carey French , 1st grade teacher at The North Carolina Leadership Academy, with a Microsoft Surface Pro Tablet/PC for winning The Best Teacher in the Triad contest. We also presented the NCLA PTO with a "BIG" check for $500.00

Help us find Zen!

SkoolZen is running a design contest to create ZEN, our cute little owl. So far, designers have submitted 155 entries and SkoolZen would love your feedback on these 4 entries.

Happy Sunday! We are having designers turn our owl, "Zen", into our official mascot by taking his likeness and creating a character. We'll have some options to share with you because we'd like your help deciding what Zen is going to look like. We are currently narrowing the options down to a solid 4 or 5. Stay tuned!

As you can imagine, it was pretty awesome to read all of the nominations that were submitted... All 1,000+ nominations. =)

We are tremendously excited to announce that the winner of SkoolZen's, "The Best teacher In The Triad", is 1st Grade teacher, Carey French, from the North Carolina Leadership Academy. Carey received an incredible amount of praise for her dedication and passion for teaching. "Compassionate, loving, organized, engaging, energetic, disciplined and motivating", were just a few of the words used by parents and co-workers to describe Carey. Some of the nominations submitted for Carey were extremely moving and made it very clear that she is an exceptional educator.

Congratulations Carey!!

But wait! We have one more thing to share! =)

We quickly saw that not only were teachers being nominated from a vast majority of schools in the Triad, there were definitely teachers who stuck out because of the amazing testimonials people were sharing about them. One teacher in particular is from Wallburg Elementary School PTO in Davidson County. It is easy to see that this teacher has made an incredible impact in the lives of students, past and present. There are some really special teachers out there and Mary Quinn is definitely one of them. Last night we decided to add an Honorary Mention Award for Mary Quinn because she is that special. She is amazing and we thank her for being a great teacher to our children.

It really is encouraging to know that teachers like Carey French and Mary Quinn are teaching in our local schools! We will be visiting both teachers later this week at their schools to present them with their respective awards. We hope to have a bunch of pictures to share. It's gonna be fun!
