This past week, cadets from Hotel Flight (Roseland Montessori) and Juliet Flight (Jewel Sumner Middle) explored the exciting world of STEM through hands-on electrical experiments!

Using the Civil Air Patrol-provided Snaptricity STEM kit, cadets learned about electrical circuits and currents while discovering how electricity works through fun, interactive activities.

These hands-on experiences encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving while helping cadets build a strong foundation in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Great work, cadets! Keep exploring, experimenting, and learning!

This past week, C/2LT Stephanie Saia, Flight Commander of Juliet Flight, and her First Sergeant, C/SSgt Abigail Sandell, conducted a uniform inspection for their flight.

Uniform inspections evaluate several aspects of cadet appearance, including uniform presentation, cleanliness, proper wear, and military bearing. These inspections help ensure cadets wear their uniforms correctly while providing valuable teachable moments to reinforce standards, attention to detail, and professionalism.

Great job, Juliet Flight! Keep up the hard work, take pride in your appearance, and continue striving for excellence!

This past Tuesday night, cadets from across the wing participated in a TLP (Team Leadership Problem), working in groups to compete against one another and the clock to complete a challenging task.

The mission? Build the tallest tower possible using everyday items, then move it to a different location to be judged!

The results were impressive, with the tallest tower reaching over two feet in height while remaining mobile!

Throughout the challenge, cadets put their skills to the test, demonstrating teamwork, engineering, problem-solving, and mentorship to accomplish the mission.

Great job, cadets! Keep climbing the mountain of success as you continue to grow as leaders and build a strong foundation for our squadron. The sky's the limit!

Congratulations to our three General Billy Mitchell Award recipients—Cadets Makayla Molland(Foxtrot), Hayden Taylor(Alpha), and Stephanie Saia(Juliet)—who recently earned the rank of Cadet Second Lieutenant!

The General Billy Mitchell Award is a significant milestone in the Civil Air Patrol cadet program and represents a tremendous accomplishment for any cadet. In addition to recognizing their dedication, leadership, and hard work, earning the award comes with significant opportunities for those who choose to pursue military service.

Cadets who earn the award may enlist in the United States Air Force, Army, or Navy and, upon qualifying, enter basic training with the rank of E-3—giving them a significant advantage over other recruits.

We are incredibly proud of these three cadets and all they have accomplished. Their achievement is a testament to their commitment, perseverance, and leadership.

Congratulations, Cadet Second Lieutenants!
