To an amazing mother and grandma Happy Mother’s Day! From the first day I was injured my mom checked on me in the middle of the night to make sure I was okay. She massaged my bruised hand and told me to believe I could heal and I did ! It’s a mother’s magic that never dies. I love you mommy infinity x infinity !

About 6 weeks ago I got into a very bad ski accident and shattered my humerus. Prior to my injury, I was working 10-12 hour days not including meetings, paperwork, travel and preparation which took away a lot of my free time during weekends. Within seconds all that came to a very brutal and abrupt stop. The conditions on the mountain were so slippery and my worst nightmare happened. I turned the wrong way and I was heading towards a massive tree. Two things entered my mind in millimeter of a second 1.My family & 2. All the children I work with and I swerved to left as much as my body could possibly allow me. I ended up smacking my arm into the tree and hitting the ice hard which resulted in tailbone and glute bruises. Although this fracture was extremely invasive! God spared me my life and I’m forever grateful. I would be lying if I said the recovery process wasn’t tedious but in some weird way this was a blessing. I was constantly going without enjoying life for myself. And this forced me to stop and sit with my thoughts and revaluate my life. I thought “ If this is truly it, I didn’t do anything on my list that I said I wanted to do” and now that I have time to think and reflect I know that going forward that has to change. I believe in sacrifice for the greater good but not if that compromises self care and all the great opportunities that are out there waiting for me. I still have 4 more weeks of healing and I will have a lot of work to do spiritually and physically. But God has yet again shown me what an amazing family he has given me. I never felt so vulnerable and humbled when my Mom had to help bath me and wash my hair. I know that it will take a long time to regain my strength but I’m discovering that the idea of strong 💪 takes on different life forms and the flexibility for human capacity never seizes to amaze me. I believe in the power of healing and that a higher power was looking out for he that day ! 🙏
