I was eager to discuss treatment options with my orthopedic specialist. I had been suffering from disabling back pain which had failed to respond to physical therapy or a spinal injection. As I waited in the office, I was surprised when an assistant came in instead. I was shocked to learn after reviewing my medical records there was nothing further the doctor could do for me. Struggling to comprehend this news I asked, “isn’t there something that can be done for my pain?” Without making eye contact, the assistant declined to provide additional advice and dismissed me from further care.
Perhaps you are experiencing something similar? Have you seen several different providers, each for a different treatment but only obtained marginal or temporary relief? Have you received multiple diagnoses or explanations for your pain but are no closer to finding a solution to treat it? Unfortunately, these experiences are quite common for the millions of people experiencing pain and you are certainly not alone, but there is hope.
Modern pain research has discovered that pain unrelieved by medical treatments results from changes in neural pain pathways. These changes prevent pain from subsiding as injuries heal or are medically treated and cause pain to persist in a “false alarm” state. This is great news! You don’t need another medical treatment that is going to fail. You need to address and reset the “false alarm” in your body’s pain neural system and Pain Reprocessing Therapy is your solution to do this.
Pain Reprocessing Therapy is a collection of psychological practices proven to treat pain by resetting pain neural pathways. I used this approach to treat my pain and return to work and it ultimately saved my life. Thousands more have used Pain Reprocessing Therapy to overcome pain. Message me today to enroll in my Pain Reprocessing Therapy group class. Don’t just manage pain, cure it.

Preparing to present tomorrow at the Spokane Pain Conference.

I wanted to share information about the Pain Science Life Stories project from Oregon. They host a free virtual meeting on Zoom the 2nd Thursday of each month featuring 2 speakers, a community member and a healthcare provider. The community member shares their personal pain story (last month’s the speaker spoke of the impact Pain Reprocessing Therapy had on her life). The healthcare speaker shares something about pain from their area of expertise and often shares their clinical experience moving from the biomedical model to the biopsychosocial model for treating pain. I was the healthcare speaker last month.
They record the speakers and post the videos with a summary and transcript to their recently launched website https://painsciencelifestories.com/. The monthly meeting and website are a great resource for both patients and clinicians who are interested in accurate science-based information about pain from a biopsychosocial perspective in a personal way with real stories.
Please consider attending a meeting, checking out the website, and sharing this information with others. They are also interested in finding community members and healthcare speakers.
