🎨Ready for some affordable, easy fun with this DIY ?

🥰Little ones love getting creative with those tasty Fruit Loops or Cheerios (so do adults… who are we kidding?) and making some fabulous jewelry to show their friends if it lasts that long!

🎉Fruit Loop” cereal necklaces are kind of a right of passage as a child.

👉Threading Develops Hand-Eye Coordination & Builds Hand Muscles

If your little one has mastered this using their fingers and working their pincer grip, throw them a curveball. Ask them to try toddler tweezers instead!

👉It’s An Excellent Opportunity To Work On Color Sorting Or Patterning

Your child could first sort the Fruit Loops by color and then thread a color at a time onto the string to make it a color block necklace.

Or it could be an opportunity for patterning. Make it as simple (ABAB) or as complicated (ABCD, AABBCCDD) as your child is able to understand.

🔬Ready to create this magical and mesmerizing science experiment at home?

👩‍🔬 Discover the science behind ᴅᴇɴꜱɪᴛʏ with your little one in this experiment that requires only 4 items!

Here’s everything you need:

ᴍᴀᴛᴇʀɪᴀʟꜱ
Several drinking glasses
Water
Vegetable oil
Liquid food coloring

ʜᴏᴡ ᴛᴏ ᴅᴏ ɪᴛ
Ask your child what they think will happen when they mix the oil and water together. This builds their critical thinking skills and channels their inner scientist!

Let your child pour about ½ cup of oil into a drinking glass. This is perfect for helping them learn their measurements.

Tell your child to put 1 drop of each color of food coloring into the glass which requires focus and precision. Then mix well to combine the oil and food coloring fully. might need a little help, and will love getting hands-on with the mixing.

Let your child pour the mixture into a glass filled with water.

Sit back and watch the magic happen!

Now is the perfect time to talk about ᴅᴇɴꜱɪᴛʏ! Explain to your child that less dense materials float and more dense materials are heavier, so they sink. Ask which is heavier or denser… the oil or food coloring?
(HINT: The answer is the water-based food coloring, which sank through the less dense oil, which stayed afloat up top. Boy, do we love science!)

Your tiny tot can pick up and hold an object between thumb and forefinger. We practice by:
🥦Letting them self-feed: picking up tasty chunks of broccoli or pieces of bread is a great incentive to work that hand-eye coordination and pinching technique.
🤏Picking up and stacking blocks and smaller bricks is great for working that more defined grip.

‘Sensitive periods’ often conjures up thoughts of adult life, but it actually refers to the 𝙬𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙤𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮 in a child's life for learning new things and developing new skills in a certain area.

Recognizing sensitive periods in your child’s development is easier than you think!

Have you ever wondered why your child wants to repeat the same song or story over and over? It may drive you crazy, but these are classic symptoms of sensitivity!

Other characteristics of sensitive periods are:

🎭mimicking what they see and hear
🔎intense concentration on a particular task
💓repeating the same behavior over and over

Interrupting a child while they are in the middle of an intense sensitive period can result in a powerful emotional response such as a tantrum.

Break a routine that a child is attempting to understand and master, such as getting dressed, bath time or bedtime, and some children will emotionally fall apart.

The ‘terrible twos’ for example, are often an exaggerated reaction to small disruptions in order that may not be perceived by adults.
