The election results are in, and while I won’t be joining the school board this term, I want to take a moment to say thank you.

Nearly 700 voters in the northern tier showed up to support me, many without ever having met me. That kind of trust and encouragement means more than I can say. I’m proud of the campaign we ran and grateful for the conversations, connections, and care that came from it.

A heartfelt congratulations to Matt Biniek and Mike Sailsbery on their victories. I know they’ll keep students, teachers, and families at the center of their work, and I’m cheering them on as they step into this important role.

Our district faces some real challenges: financial, structural, and social, and I believe now more than ever, we need leaders who unite rather than divide. Let’s keep showing up for one another. Let’s keep building a school system rooted in equity, community, and care.

In just a couple of years, my daughter will begin kindergarten, and I can’t wait to see all the great things this district will offer her. The future is here, and I’m hopeful.

Halloween spirit was alive and well yesterday across KASD! From the creative costumes to the joyful energy in our classrooms and neighborhoods, it was a beautiful reminder of how vibrant and connected our school community truly is. My daughter especially loved all the tall spooky skeletons, just from a distance! Thank you to the students, staff, and families who made the day so special!

Now, as we turn the calendar to November 1st, we also turn our focus to the future. Election Day is this Tuesday, November 4th, a chance for us to shape the kind of leadership we want for our schools.

As our district faces real financial and structural challenges in the years ahead, now is not the time to divide. It’s a time to come together, to ensure that every student in Kutztown Area School District is seen, supported, and well represented.

Let’s lead with hope, not fear. Let’s vote with unity, not division. And let’s keep building a school community where everyone belongs.

🎃🗳️ What a day to celebrate community! From Trunk or Treat tonight at the Kempton Community Center to Homecoming weekend at Kutztown University, it’s a perfect reminder of what makes this place so special, neighbors showing up, traditions thriving, and kids at the heart of it all.

I’m so thankful to be part of this community and to have the chance to serve it in new ways. If you’re out and about tonight, I hope the joy and connection remind you why local elections matter so much.

💛 If you’d like a yard sign to support a campaign that puts students and families first, send me a message or drop a comment. Let’s show our young people that their hometown believes in them, loud and proud!

A new school year is off to a strong start, fresh ideas, hopeful hearts, and incredible potential for our students and schools. After 18 years in public education, I’ve stepped into a new role in higher ed at our own local university, but my commitment to kids and community hasn’t changed one bit.

Now’s the time to double down. Our students deserve school board members who know this community, value public schools, and will lead with compassion and common sense. Let’s keep showing up, Kempton and neighbors, our votes matter more than ever. 💛📚
