Congratulations to KPS Employee of the Month Taylor Lothrop, Librarian at Sunrise Middle School!
Taylor Lothrop is an exceptional educator, natural leader, and invaluable member of the Sunrise Middle School community whose impact reaches far beyond the library. She is dependable, innovative, compassionate, and always willing to step in wherever she is needed—whether leading Blitz Day, coordinating MAP and NSCAS testing, analyzing student growth data, troubleshooting technology, teaching journalism and yearbook, helping develop the district’s AI curriculum, or creating meaningful opportunities such as Books and Breakfast and staff book club. Taylor’s passion for reading and learning inspires students, while her ability to recognize individual needs helps ensure every student feels supported and valued. Just as importantly, she has an extraordinary gift for taking care of people. She welcomes new staff, celebrates colleagues, supports students at activities and events, and continually finds thoughtful ways to make others feel included and appreciated. Taylor sees a need and finds a solution, often before anyone asks, approaching every challenge with creativity, determination, humor, and a willingness to serve. Her dedication makes students better learners, staff better educators, and Sunrise a stronger, more connected school community.
