Our Elementary class became official apple tasters!!

The kids loved being able to taste and experience different kinds of apples that they normally just walk past in the grocery store. They all got to rate their apple after each taste and at the end we took a class vote on which apple was the best!

Honeycrisp was the best tasting apple in our class!!

Repetition in Montessori does not mean doing the same thing over and over without change. Each time children return to an activity, they have the opportunity to practice, make new connections, and strengthen their understanding. As they gain mastery and confidence, the level of difficulty and challenge also increases, allowing them to continue progressing at their own pace.
Repetition helps transform practice into understanding and understanding into lasting learning.

We had an incredible morning with Diane from Diane's Art Studio! She visited SCA and taught our students all about collages. 🎨✨

In our Primary classroom, one of Diane’s collaborative art pieces hangs on our wall. It was already in our building from when it was Sugar & Spice, and we loved it so much that we kept it up for our students to enjoy every day.

Having the artist behind that special piece visit our school and create with our students was such a treat. Thank you, Diane, for sharing your time, creativity, and love of art with us! ❤️

Congratulations to Sandhill Cranes Academy for receiving a $1,000 Arthur Klinkacek Community Enrichment grant from the Kearney Area Community Foundation to help purchase tables for students at their new Montessori school!

The bookmobile came to SCA! 📚🚌❤️

Our students were SO excited to see a whole bus filled with books pull up to school! Each student has their very own library card and got to pick out their own books to bring home and enjoy. 🥰

There was so much excitement as they explored, made choices, and found books they couldn’t wait to read! We’re already looking forward to the next visit! 📖✨

Today our Primary and Elementary students got to visit each other’s classrooms! They shared morning meetings, sang songs together, gave tours of their classrooms, and even got to show off some of their favorite Montessori materials. 🥹

It was so sweet watching the older and younger students interact, share what they’ve been learning, and take pride in their classrooms. These are the moments that help build our school community and culture 💛
