We are looking for community interest and support to make this event the best yet!

The FFA chapter will be hosting a Career Day this year on Nov. 12th at MHS. This year, they are opening up the opportunity for businesses and organizations in the community to set up a job recruiting table. This will allow local businesses to network with students about career opportunities at their company. The FFA is also looking for community members who are interested in presenting to students about their careers. Some example presenters would be in the area of psychology, web design, forensic science, and CAD design, but others are appreciated as well!

We haven’t posted an update on the greenhouse in a while! The structure is built and Cornerstone is busy working on the electrical inside. Things are coming together! 🌱

We have a busy week ahead!

1. HHD is Wednesday! Members need to bring 5 canned goods for admission. We will leave at 8:00am and return at 1:30.

2. The Highway Cleanup is this Friday. We will have breakfast between 8-8:30 and then cleanup from 9-11:30. This counts as CAT hours too.

3. Fuel up for FFA is Friday at the A-Stop. 10 cents of every gallon goes towards FFA.

Sunday we will have our first FFA Social! This is a member only event. 8th-12th grade members can meet at the Minden Pickleball Courts at 4:00pm. Make sure to bring your own paddle and balls. There will be extra for those that need it.

Weekly garden and greenhouse update!🚨

Today we had a big harvest in the garden! We harvested tomatillos, okra, jalapeños, peppers, tomatoes, and a lot of cucumbers! We were able to give the cucumbers to the kitchen and they were served in the school salad bar today! There are also really big cucumbers that are past their prime, that would be great for chickens!

The greenhouse is moving right along too! The siding is just about finished and the benches will be constructed next!

Updates! 🚨🚨

1. We have tomatillos at the garden! We will have a lot of jalapeños next week.

2. The greenhouse has doors, fans, and two walls! We love seeing this progress.

Congratulations to our FIRST American FFA Degree recipients. As a chapter we are very proud of these members for helping pave the way for future members and their SAE success. We can’t wait to support them in Indianapolis in October!

The SAE Grant Program provides funding for individual SAE projects for Nebraska FFA members grades 7-11 who have a clearly described financial need. Grant requests may be any amount up to $2,000.
