Pivot to Entrepreneurship

1. Know your audience - Before starting your business you must know who your target market is. Who are you trying to reach specifically? Get clear on your market by studying their thinking and what drives them to buy. Go beyond the demographics. What problems or challenges do they face? Talk to THOSE people.

2. Develop a Unique Value Proposition (UVP) - Your UVP is a major key in your business. It should articulate what sets your product, service, or brand apart from competitors and why it's valuable to customers. Before you set out to market, create a concise UVP statement.

3. Have a solid marketing plan - Once clear on your target market, product/service and business model, devise a strategic marketing plan that will be sure to position your business ahead of your competitors. It helps to complete a competitor analysis to understand how they are positioning their business in the market and learn from their strategies. You can also study their target audience and how they respond to their marketing tactics.

Hello! I'm Lorelle Woods, entrepreneur coach and founder of the Pivot to Entrepreneurship Program. In 2022, I felt compelled to create this program while growing my fitness business, Fitness Therapy Training. In 2021, I participated in an entrepreneurship program at YWCA Houston and noticed a significant gap in entrepreneurship knowledge. I realized that aspiring entrepreneurs faced challenges in the process of ideation and the steps in-between to officially launch their business. My passion for living a life filled with purpose and impact was the driving force behind developing this information- and action-packed program to encourage women to pivot to entrepreneurship! I wholeheartedly believe that entrepreneurship is the pathway to purpose. I designed a community platform around my cohort-based course to ensure entrepreneurs complete the crucial steps to launch their business and join others for collaboration, learning, and support.
