Congratulations to our next Senior from Class of 2026- Ryleigh Townsend!
Ryleigh has been homeschooled her whole life and has been with ODA Houston-West since it's inception 9 years ago! Post graduation Ryleigh plans to pursue a degree and career as an art teacher. In her free time, she also enjoys going dancing, reading books, spending time outside, going antiquing, and all things country music.
Ryleigh's favorite aspect of homeschooling is being able to work at her own pace and the flexibility of being able to travel and spend time with family/friends. Her favorite classes at ODA have always been art class with Mrs. Estrada. Her classes helped Ryleigh develop a passion for art and inspired her desire to become an art teacher as well!
She shared her favorite Bible verse, Psalm 56:3 "But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in You". And fittingly, her advice to any homeschooler is to take chances and don't get hung up on the little things...trust God.
We are so proud of you Ryleigh, and we are praying blessings over your journey ahead!

Be sure to join us for the End of Year Showcase tomorrow evening at Redeemer. Everyone is welcome, there is no charge. Come celebrate all the hard work that students have on display with their projects from many disciplines. Also, be prepared to be delighted by Elementary Drama’s performance of “American Symbols on Parade.” It’s the perfect kickoff for the celebration of our nation’s 250th birthday!

And now for another Senior Shout Out, this time for Hayden Gonzalez!
Hayden has been homeschooled her whole life and part of ODA the last 4 years. She is graduating high school with an associates degree and after graduation she plans to attend Texas State University and major in Communications. Hayden has played volleyball for the last 10 years and was the number one setter in the district this season. She also has been active in the Spanish Honors Society as the Historian for the last two years.
Hayden has enjoyed the unique experience of being homeschooled and the friendships she has made. Her favorite teacher at ODA is Mrs. Butuyan because she cares so much about her students and makes class fun.
Her favorite Bible verse is 1 Peter 5:7 "cast all anxieties on Him for He cares for you." and her advice to other homeschoolers is don't be afraid to put yourself out there and make friends! Chances are they are looking for friends too!
Big congrats to you Hayden for all you have already accomplished -and your future looks bright! We are cheering you on!
