This is a very easy to understand use of a relative clause in Latin.

πŸ“– Connecting Ideas in Latin: Relative Clauses πŸͺΆβœ¨

When you want to add more depth to a sentence without breaking your narrative flow, relative clauses are your go-to tool. They allow you to attach extra information directly to a noun (the antecedent) using a relative pronoun.
In Latin, the foundation of this structure rests on three words: qui, quae, quod.
Let's look at the elegant example in the graphic:
πŸͺž Puella (The antecedent: The girl...)
🧑 quae (The relative pronoun matching 'puella' in gender and number: ...who...)
πŸ“š legit docta est (The rest of the clause and main sentence: ...reads is learned.)
✨ Puella quae legit docta est ➑️ The girl who reads is learned.
Mastering how relative pronouns link thoughts together is one of the most satisfying milestones in fluidly reading Latin prose!
