I’m on a mission to normalize adversity as opportunities to find the gifts and turn pain into purpose

This Is Power

Proud. Emotional. Peaceful. Diverse. Empowered.
Humorous. Supported. Encouraging. Inclusive.
Honest. Kind. Joyful. Tearful.
Loud. Quiet. Compassionate. Sad.
Hopeful. Angry. Humble. Frustrated.
Welcoming. Loving.
Friendly. Patient. Peaceful.

Dancing. Singing. Shouting. Hugging.
High-fiving. Handing out water, flags, flowers—
Leading with heart, with intention, with self-control.

This is what power looks like.

Power that doesn’t dominate, bully, or divide.
Power that finds joy in the chaos.
Power that shows up, not to tear down, but to lift up.
Power in peaceful protest.
Power in coming together.
Power in people using their voices with purpose.

This wasn’t a march of fear but a movement of love.
Not the heavy hand of dominance,
but the steady heartbeat of hope.
Led not by outdated systems clinging to control,
but by quiet strength that trusts in growth.

We stood not to divide,
but to show that a nation can disagree
and still reach for one another
with curiosity, compassion, and grace.

This was not fear’s echo,
it was love’s uprising.

I support law enforcement. I honor our troops.
My grandfather, father, and brother have all proudly served in the US Army and I have family in law enforcement.

My faith is rooted in Christianity, yet my heart stays open to the countless paths through which people connect to love, spirit, and God.

I believe in this country.
I believe in democracy.
I believe in the need for diverse voices…left, right, and everything in between.

And I also believe this:
Donald Trump is a disgrace to the values this country was built on and the sacrifices made to protect them.
We were never meant to have kings.
What we need is courage, compassion, and leadership that serves the people, not power for its own sake.

To everyone who continues to serve and protect the values of this country, thank you.
To those who stand for justice, equality, and peace, thank you.
To those who show up with signs, songs, and heart, thank you.

This is what America looks like when love leads. ❤️🇺🇸

One of the most beautiful things my friend Kristi shared with me was how, in her final year, when she chose to quit chemo so to live more fully alive in the life right in front of her, she tapped into a new side of herself. She created intricate, beautiful, mindful artwork as part of her healing journey. Strong in left-brain logic most of her life, she discovered a creative expression she never knew existed, allowing for her right brain creativity to take shape. This is the power of the mind when we learn to let go. I found this so inspiring and empowering.
A year ago, I had the idea to share her artwork on my social media page. She loved it. I dragged my feet. A week before she passed, we finalized a logo. I planned to post it. But I hesitate. My own complicated relationship with social media getting in the way.
So I’m sharing it now. What we both talked about together, is it’s never too late. She sees it. I believe that! My promise to you, Kristi, is this: I will continue to face my fears and live life fully, staying true to the person I am and continue to trust in the process and the journey. -Grateful for the beautiful Artwork by Kristi Gleason

It’s real. It’s happening. Are you feeling it? Let’s talk about it. Knowledge is power…when followed with action. ❤️.

Anyone want to join me for this “all women’s marathon” in Savannah?? I’m thinking of putting a “women’s group” together for a mindful empowerment retreat that includes..meditation, yoga and you can run, walk or come to support. Any takers?

Wow! Wow! Wow! Thank you for all of the lovely birthday wishes my friends! ❤️ it’s so great to see so many old and new faces. It warms my heart!

As I reflected on my past year of 48, I thought I would share what I’m most proud of. 😍

Maybe this might encourage you to do the same if you feel up to it…🤷‍♀️

I believe we are never too old to keep learning, growing and expanding into our fullest potential.⭐️

So I want to celebrate these milestones that happened over the past year.

- I completed my 8th 1/2 marathon (from a gal who hated long distance running until I was in my 30’s.) 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

- I invested in myself and a dream to speak on stages through the Mic Drop Academy Program with Jess Ekstrom and have expanded my coaching biz into speaking as well. 🎤🎤

- After 15 years, I jumped back into event planning & fundraising to fill a void of meaning making and social interactions on the weekends through OneCause (maybe I will see you at the next local gala) 🎪🎪🎪

- I broadened my coaching practice to work with BetterUp as a Care Coach which allows me to help more people live more fully in work and life. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

- I opened my heart to dating again, experienced heart break and instead of closing that heart up tight, I opened it wider, continuing to trust and believe in the possibility of love again.❤️❤️❤️

- I have lived the last 21 months without a drop of alcohol. (In that time this 48 year old stayed up til 4am on a girls trip with no drugs or alcohol, partaking in karaoke, dancing and laughing.) Proving to myself that I don’t need alcohol to have fun or to cope with the hard parts of life. 🚫🍷🚫

- I shared my personal story of child sexual abuse on a stage in front of 400+ people at a MOCSA gala. This one act allowed me to break the silence and contradict the story that had played in my mind all my life. The story that it was a dream, is was no big deal, and the belief that my story and I were never enough. Now I can share and live confidently from a place of healing, growth, empowerment and worthiness! ☮️☮️☮️

- This is my 10th year of learning, growing, unlearning and being willing to feel uncomfortable emotions all while breaking lifelong patterns that no longer serve me. All with the goal of living more heart-centered, fully alive and on purpose! ❤️☮️✨🤩

If you got this far…🙏 God bless you! 😘

There is no achievement too small to celebrate. Be sure to find your gifts within your journey, within your struggle. Because there are gems in there and it’s important to acknowledge them! 💎

And celebrate how far you have come. ❤️✌🏼😘

Healing isn't a one and done journey. It's a lifelong process with various stages. It starts with acknowledging where the pain shows up in your life. Then trust in your healing process and allow yourself to bloom. I without a doubt am so thankful for the ability to face the pain in order to find the gift. You can too. I believe in you. ❤️

Did you know passion can be a side effect from adversity?

Once we have given proper time to heal we then have the opportunity to look at the gifts that come from that adversity. 💝

When we are able to find the gifts, the passion shows up! 💃

I’m speaking to educate and prevent sexual violence from happening in the first place. I have found opportunity within the challenge. This has lit a fire in my heart and soul! 🔥

So be sure to not get lost in the hardship of the adversity. We can heal AND find purpose within the pain!

This allows up to live more fully, rather than victim to tragedy.

So look for the gift!❤️

Stay tuned…I plan to share more gifts I’ve uncovered on this journey in future posts. Xox ❤️
