Today was a very special day at *Damthang Sec. School* as our sweet *Chemela Sherpa from Class II* celebrated her birthday š„³
On this joyful occasion, *Chemela's parents* made the day even more memorable by arranging a delicious *Diwa Bhoj for the entire DSS family* - all students, teachers and staff.
Along with that, they also distributed *sweets to all the children*, bringing big smiles to everyone's faces. Seeing the happiness of the kids was the best gift of all ā¤ļø

World Environment Day pledge

On the occasion of World Environment Day, Damthang Sec. School successfully organized the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" plantation drive. It wasnāt just about planting saplings - the pledge and group photo made the day memorable. The message was clear: as these saplings grow big, the values of the students will also grow big.

*A. Morning Assembly - Awareness Speech*
Students from Class IX and VII gave speeches:
- 1 cigarette reduces life by 5.5 minutes
- To***co causes cancer, breathing problems, and black teeth
- "To***co companies target children - we must say 'No'"
*B. Poster + Slogan Competition*
Class VII and IX made posters on chart paper on "No To***co" topic.

World No To***co Day was celebrated successfully at DSS. Posters, pledge, and human chain gave the message of a "To***co free generation". This day taught students - "Healthy lungs, healthy future".

Report on Cleanliness Drive Organized by Damthang Sec. School Eco Club

Venue: Damthang Sec. School Premises and Nearby Park
1. Introduction
The DSS Eco Club organized a cleanliness drive with the aim of promoting hygiene, environmental awareness, and sustainable living among students and staff. The event focused on cleaning the school surroundings and nearby public areas while also encouraging organic farming practices.
2. Participation
The drive witnessed active participation from both students and teachers. Around [50+] members of the DSS Eco Club, along with faculty members, joined hands to make the event successful. The collective effort reflected strong teamwork and a shared commitment towards a cleaner environment.
3. Activities Conducted
1. School Surroundings Cleaning:
Volunteers cleaned classrooms, corridors, the playground, and the main school compound. Litter such as plastic wrappers, bottles, and dry leaves was collected and properly disposed of in dustbins.
2. Park Cleaning:
The team extended the drive to the nearby public park. Participants removed plastic waste, weeds, and other debris, making the park cleaner and safer for community use.

On 28th May, 2026:World Menstrual Hygiene Day was observed at Govt. Secondary School Damthang.During the morning assembly Mrs Dawa Doma Bhutia (Health and Wellness Ambassador)delivered a speech highlighting the significance of World Menstrual Hygiene Day, theme ,itās objectives along with the information on the Bahini Scheme launched by the Government of Sikkim.Gudwin Rai of class X also spoke on the importance of breaking menstrual Stigma and taboos and promoting a period - friendly environment .Sanitary Pad received from Samagra Siksha Abhiyan under inclusive education were distributed among the students
