80TH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION: A SHORT PROGRAM WITH THANKS GIVING NOTEToday we all the Staff, Students of Damthang Secondary School celebrated 80th Independence Day along with a few Guest invited from nearby school areas like former SMC Chairperson Mr N K Rai, Respected Senior Citizen Mr Nima Sherpa along with few parents of our students in the initiative of School Incharge Ms Yangzoom Sherpa.
In addition to our today's short program on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day Celebrations, We Damthang SS family would like to express a heartfelt gratitude to our Honourable Area MLA Pok-Lok Kamrang Constituency Cum Minister, UDD, Food and Civil Supplies, Govt of Sikkim, Mr Bhojraj Rai Sir for his kind gesture for providing packet lunches to our school students.

Paryavaran Parva 2026
Date: 09/07/2026
Venue: Damthang School, Sikkim
Today, as part of "Paryavaran Parva 2026", weeding and care work was done for the Red Chilly plants that were planted earlier at Damthang School.
Students worked together to clear weeds around the plants, loosen the soil, and clean the school campus.
The program conveyed the message that "Planting and caring for plants is true environmental conservation."
The program was successful.

*ЁЯПЫя╕П Bharatiya Bhasha Summer Camp 2026 - Day 6: "Discover Delhi" ЁЯПЫя╕П*
Today at *Damthang Sec. School,* Day 6 of *Bharatiya Bhasha Summer Camp 2026* was a visual journey to the heart of India - Delhi!
Students and parents gathered in the auditorium hall for a special screening on *"Famous Monuments of Delhi"*. The TV came alive with the grandeur of IndiaтАЩs heritage:
*Monuments Explored:*
1. *Red Fort (Lal Qila)* - Symbol of Mughal architecture and IndiaтАЩs Independence Day celebrations
2. *Qutub Minar* - The tallest brick minaret in the world
3. *India Gate* - Tribute to our brave soldiers
4. *Lotus Temple* - A symbol of unity and peace
5. *Jama Masjid* - One of the largest mosques in India
Through the documentary, students learned the history, architecture, and cultural importance of each monument. Parents too enjoyed the session and felt proud seeing their children connect with IndiaтАЩs rich heritage beyond textbooks.
This activity was a perfect blend of learning + visual experience. "Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat" came alive on screen today!
