REPOST FROM ST. Mary’s

“Can you say triple threat? 👀 Huge shout out to Dr. Rincon, Dr. Wiepen and Dr. Ogogor for providing FREE sports physicals to local community student athletes! 🩺

A sports physical allows a clinician to identify any conditions that might keep an athlete out of the game or affect performance. The goal is to evaluate an athletes general health, current fitness level, risk of injury, and physical well-being. Athletes should have a physical six weeks before the start of the sport season, but this can vary due to changing sports seasons. Thank you doctors for keeping our local community athletes safe! “ 🏈🏐⚽️

Dr. Kramer, Program Director, talks about the success of General Surgery Residents who graduate from the KCU-GME Consortium/St. Mary’s /Advanced Surgical Associates program.

“The most rewarding thing about being the Program Director and Core Faculty for St. Mary’s Medical Center General Surgery Residency Program is seeing how well our Graduating Residents are doing. Since the inception of this program, we have had one resident go on to a Critical Care Fellowship at Baylor, another on to a Burn Fellowship at the largest Burn Center in the U.S., another is doing a Critical Care Fellowship following her third year of residency at the University of Iowa. We have had one resident join our practice and 2 others that were recruited to join other practices in Missouri that are very successful. Knowing that we helped to produce excellent physicians and Surgeons is tremendously rewarding and has been a very important part of my career.”
