Ohh mama! I’m the luckiest to have you. It’s always been so wonderful to have you in my corner. These photos are from 2016, when I was working on my Spirit Animal collection, this piece is the Red Crown Crane headpiece. My mom is the best model, and encouragement cheerleader! 🥰💕

As these Winter Olympic Games wrap up, I have so loved seeing images of Milano and the other cities.
It has been plucking away at my memories of my first trip overseas. Milano was my first stop. Traveling as a student, we were total tourists with our FILM cameras 📷 🤣. It was such an unexpected city, I remember seeing the duomo for the first time and it took my breath away it was so massive and intricate at the same time. So thankful and were our amazing teachers and guides. I dug through some photos and found these little guys-

📷- loose collage
📷- duomo di Milano in the afternoon
📷- violin player at the entrance of The Castello Sforzesco
📷- the most beautiful ornamental gate in front of a Milano residence- as a Metalsmithing major I have been obsessed with it!
📷- Another ornamental fence in front of lake maggiore
📷- I always adore being able to dip my toes in local water - my travel mate are dipping in off of isola Bella
📷- posing my best pose peacock 🦚 on isola Bella
📷- lil college Christie enjoying the Italian tourist life

Rounding the corner into December, I was recently reminded to choose joy, it made me reminisce about some joyful projects I worked on this past year. Featured in this image is the “TuxChainTank” I made for . He and were putting on one of their magical Salons at the —this specific one, “24kQ,” honored 50 years of pride with the theme “showing the gilded rage for freedom and expression.” The piece had to be bold! I loved the creative process: matching the classic tux shirt and small tie with a massive amount of chain. The shoulder pieces feature a meaningful quote from Shakespeare’s Timon of Athens: “you are an alchemist make gold of that.” The ability to transform the ordinary into something extraordinary - sounds like joy to me.

I loved the exercise of taking this word into its smaller forms, and looking at the definition, which made me play with using the actual word FULL vs the FUL. I really hope your week, year, and holidays are filled with moments, conversations, and connections that FILL your cup UP and make you feel FULL. So full that your cup runneth over.

“Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson
