Early morning at Rice-Tremonti House overnight Mel found the spirits wanting to play with the cat balls and get her attention! Getting things set up they trigger a cat ball behind her she doesn't even notice at first. Listen to the direct responses that were captured using one of our favorite apps, Necrophonic, being played through a blue tooth device. We use an audio recorder along with our video evidence to be sure we catch all the spirit responses. We have found sometimes what is on the audio recording is not picked up in the videos. This also helps us use Audacity to listen back on the recordings at different speeds to help us pickup more of the responses. Transcript of the interaction is also completed to document our research.

Paranormal investigations often take place at historical locations. Our team has always been supportive of these locations and know the importance of preserving history. Right now, in Independence, MO some of these historic locations are in jeopardy! This post is in support of the Bingham-Waggoner Historical Society and Vaile Victorian Society. We are asking the paranormal community to spread the word and show your support. I am sharing their message:
We are reaching out with an urgent and deeply concerning update regarding the future of our local history. A newly proposed Historic Sites Master Plan has just been released, and its recommendation is unthinkable: The City of Independence is considering selling both the Bingham-Waggoner Estate and the Vaile Mansion.
These landmarks are not just buildings; they are the heart of our community's heritage. We cannot allow them to be lost to private development or permanent closure.
We need you to show up and help us fill the room.
We are joining forces with our friends at the Vaile Victorian Society to send a clear message: Our historic estates are not for sale.

This was from our prior overnight at Rice-Tremonti home, in Raytown, MO. Important to take advantage of the time when you do an overnight investigation. It doesn't have to be night or in the dark to talk to spirits. I went room to room and did short sessions early in the morning (ignore we forgot to set time stamp). Definitely still an active time.

We do this for our own enjoyment, and because we want to share what we have learned in our paranormal research and continue to learn from others with similar interests. In this video, I was trying for the first time to use Bluetooth while on our favorite Necrophonic app. Trying to see if I could understand in real time more of the conversation. It did work, but there was more static, and I'm not sure if those were some responses I was missing. So more experimenting with this to come. This is a longer video, but worth watching. On the property at the Rice-Tremonti home lived the enslaved servant, Sophia White. On the original site of her cabin stands a current rebuilt cabin made from antique logs. Following emancipation, Sophia remained with the Rice family as a paid employee, continuing her domestic duties and earning extra income from personal projects. During her last year, Sophia was cared for by the Rice's in the main house. In this investigation with Bailey and Tom in the cabin, you can hear Sophie acknowledge she is there. A few other spirits join in on some responses. This time we get a man singing back his response. Watch as Alea and Bailey have an unexpected spirit encounter in the basement at Rice-Tremonti. Nothing negative, but not what these spirits usually do to get our attention. They are using the Necrophonic app, a spirit box app, EMF trip wire and the Paranormal Flex. Watch to the end to see how in an empty room spirits continue to move about the room triggering devices.

More incredible evidence from our investigation in Sept. 2025 at the Rice-Tremonti Home. Two from our team, Alea and Bailey, investigated outside the home on the surrounding property. Great responses, but the most compelling evidence is when a man named Benjamin speaks up, and we also hear from the people who killed him! Another first for us in an investigation! We have the spirits use one of our investigators' names in a direct statement asking them to leave! (Disregard the time stamp on the video; we just forgot to reset it)

Give this a try- watch the video, then put on some earbuds or headphones and listen to the audio recording. Then read over the transcript. You may even pick up some additional words we missed. These spirits were responding to questions but also talking and arguing amongst themselves. Some want us to leave, some are asking for help, and one who doesn't know they are dead and needs other spirits to explain it. The basement at the Rice-Tremonti home is always a busy place for spirits!
