2nd graders wrapped up their social studies unit on Economics by hosting a Market Day! Students had to create, sell, and advertise products or services to their classmates. They earned classroom money which they were able to use to purchase items from each other.

It was a great opportunity for them to learn about business concepts, sales, and entrepreneurship in a hands-on, engaging way.

Day 5 of Teacher Appreciation Week bloomed with beauty and gratitude!
We transformed our space into a charming French floral shop, where teachers enjoyed delicious pastries, fresh flower bouquets, and heartfelt letters of appreciation from loved ones.
A perfect reminder that our educators truly are trés magnifique!

Happy Nurse Appreciation Day to Nurse Kia!
At Hazel Grove Elementary, we’re beyond lucky to have Nurse Kia keeping us healthy, safe, and smiling. From Band-Aids to big hearts, she does it all with care, compassion, and a calm presence that makes every student feel seen and supported.

Thank you, Nurse Kia, for being the heartbeat of our school — we’re so grateful for everything you do!

We’re excited to announce that enrollment has been extended for this year’s Summer Learning Program— a great opportunity for students to stay engaged, build skills, and have fun over the summer!

Enrollment for (K-8 students) is open now through Friday, May 16.

If you’d like your student to participate, please contact your student's principal as soon as possible so they can reserve their spot.

Day 3 of Teacher Appreciation Week at Hazel Grove:

Today, we took a bite out of the Big Apple! We brought Central Park vibes to our amazing staff with fresh NYC-style bagels, hot coffee, and — maybe the best gift of all — the gift of time. Every team member got a well-deserved break to relax, recharge, and feel celebrated.

Here’s to our incredible educators who give so much every day — you deserve every moment!

Day 2 of Teacher Appreciation Week was off to the races—Hazel Grove style!
We celebrated our amazing teachers with a Kentucky Derby themed day, complete with delicious finger foods, festive decor, and refreshing mocktails. Fancy hats and big smiles were the perfect pairing as we honored the incredible educators who go the distance for our students every day!

Day 1 of Teacher Appreciation Week at Hazel Grove was nacho average celebration!
We kicked things off on Cinco de Mayo with a build-your-own nacho bar and refreshing margarita mocktails to show our amazing teachers just how much we appreciate them.
Their dedication is the real spice of our school, and this week, we’re serving up gratitude—one delicious day at a time!

Our first and fourth grade book buddies spent time outside celebrating May Day. Check out their beautiful artwork in front of our school!

Thursday we celebrated the heart of Hazel Grove — our incredible principal, Mrs. Hafner. Her leadership, compassion, and unwavering commitment to our students and staff make her a truly valued part of our school community. Whether she’s supporting classrooms, leading with integrity, or bringing positive energy to every hallway, Mrs. Hafner makes Hazel Grove a place of excellence and care.
