“Amateur’s talk hardware (tools and techniques). Professional’s talk software (mindset).” – Lt. Col. Dave Grossman

When it comes to learning self-defense, almost universally, people start by learning a technique (i.e. move, strike, block. etc.) or how to use a tool (i.e. gun, knife, pepper spray, etc.). However, when you really think, would it not be better to begin with learning how to recognize and avoid a conflict before you might need that tool or technique?...

We are running this class in conjunction with the https://www.facebook.com/womensfirearmacademy

This course is an in depth look at the essential elements needed for a successful self-defense claim from the perspective of the criminal justice system.

We will discuss the five key elements of self-defense, the castle doctrine, stand your ground laws, self-defense immunity, gun free zones, the criminal justice process from the 911 call thru the jury verdict, Montana specific statutes, case law, and jury instructions, post incident interactions with the police, and an analysis of the myths surrounding a recent high- profile self-defense case and the media.

The legal issues surrounding self-defense are the most often neglected and misinformed part of self-defense training. The media, law enforcement, and prosecutors routinely apply incorrect terms, tactics, and laws when reporting and applying them to lawful claims of self-defense. The truth is that it is your responsibility to know those laws and how to apply them before any deadly or non-deadly incident occurs. Ignorance of the law is not a defense in a court.

You have won the fight for your life. Are you prepared to defend your actions not only to the police but prosecutors and eventually in front of a jury and win?

Class size limited to ten students.

Situational Awareness and Avoidance Class, this Sunday July 16th from noon to 4pm, in Whitefish Montana.

You Can't Avoid What You Don't Understand.

Do you have a realistic view of what a real-world violent attack will look and feel like? All too often traditional self-defense classes cover basic defensive techniques without exposing their students to what criminals are truly capable of during an assault.

This class is specifically designed to do just that and more. The primary focus of the class is to give you tools to help recognize and avoid a violent attack before it happens. This is a hands-off class and a primer for our Hands-On Self-Defense Class, where we will address what to do when you have no choice but to fight.

Class size limited to ten students.

Press Release: June 13, 2023, Kalispell

Last Friday, Governor Greg Gianforte talked about the nearly 11,000 percent increase in fentanyl seizures by anti-drug task forces in Montana since 2019. Fentanyl alone can be lethal, but when combined with another drug – Xylazine – it creates a more potent and lethal drug with horrendous effects.

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) released a Health Alert Network Message on May 26, 2023, regarding the increased risk of Xylazine when mixed with illegal drugs. The effects of Xylazine can include drowsiness, reduced heart rate, hypothermia, coma, respiratory depression, and dysrhythmia. The drug comes in powder or liquid form, and when mixed with other drugs, can cause individuals to develop severe soft tissue wounds which can lead to necrotic tissue and the possible need for amputation. Users are often referred to as ‘zombie’ addicts as it is a horrific, flesh-eating drug combination.

Because Xylazine is not an opioid, naloxone (Narcan) will not reverse the risk of fatal overdoses. At this time, the FDA still recommends the use of Narcan for opioid overdoses; and, if a patient does not respond, healthcare professionals should provide appropriate supportive measures.

Our goal is to keep Xylazine out of Flathead County, and we do not have time to lose. School is out and tourists are in, and we need to get the message out with urgency…that to try is to die from this combo. I am kicking off a marketing campaign aimed at informing the public about the dangers of Fentanyl and the deadly combination of Fentanyl (or any other opioid) and Xylazine. We will be utilizing social media, and want to partner with reporters, schools, and organizations across Flathead to help spread the word.

Thank you.
