Happy Monday, neighbors! Mondays hardly exist for all our colorful pollinator friends who work hard all season long. Thanks for logging so much overtime and not charging us a cent! 🐛🦋🌸

Hey neighbors! There is a statewide Air Quality Alert, ranging from Very Unhealthy to Hazardous. It is not recommended to spend time at the Arb or other outdoor areas today. Reminder that we do not have running water for our visitors. Stay safe, we hope to see you back on trail soon!

Free pop up game of limbo on Gathje today! Only one level. Challenge your friends!
Joke aside, the strong winds over the weekend brought a number of trees down on our trails and we are working to clear them. Thanks for walking carefully around, under, and over the obstacles.

Who keeps the trails clear? We’ve got a great crew of students on our trail crew year-round. During K College’s academic year, we have an Arb Stewardship PE class that brings students out to learn about trail maintenance, native plants, and more! Say hello when you see them out there!

Yesterday, the Outdoor Leadership Training Center took future LandSea leaders and community members out to the Arb for wilderness medicine scenarios. Back boarding, wound care, and mini-searches on our trails help prepare students for (almost) anything that could happen in the backcountry. We love our outdoor classroom! 🩺🩹🏕️ And don’t worry, no CPR dummies were harmed or dropped along the way!

The trails are reopened! Thanks again for steering clear of Not-So-Mag and a section of the Powerline. brought seven sheep for the third year of a prescribed grazing project, and thanks to Not-So-Mag is re-opened! We always love spending time with the sheep - see if you can find the graze plots on your next hike! 🐑

April showers bring spring… Garlic Mustard! As you enjoy the Arb trails, keep your eyes peeled for this quick-spreading non-native. Pull from the base of the stem to remove the roots, toss the plant into trash bags or the labeled bins on trail, or bring it home to experiment with this edible invasive. Thanks for helping native plants thrive!
