Congratulations to our amazing 2nd graders for winning this year’s Penny Wars! 🎉👏

As a school, we raised over $2,000 that will go toward our campus beautification project, including updating the picnic tables around campus. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make a difference!

Our 2nd grade champions earned an extra recess and a delicious ice cream party from Culver’s 🍦 What a fun way to end the school year! ☀️

A huge thank you to Abacoa Publix, especially Tania, for generously donating popcorn for our kindergarten and first grade students movie day this week! 🍿💛

Your kindness and support helped make the last week of school extra special, and it was so appreciated by our students and staff. Thank you for being such an amazing community partner!

Today’s Penny Wars numbers….counted before the Musical theater club performance of Aristocats. Plot your revenge wisely. Kindergarten brought the big copper energy with nearly 1450 Pennies!!!! 5th grade has been plotting their approach carefully (lets remember they did this the first time in 1st grade). Lots of high score bills for them today. This is truly ANYONES game!

Get ready for a little friendly competition, Tigers! Penny Wars will take place May 18th – May 22nd in the cafè at Jerry Thomas Elementary!

Each grade level will have its own collection jug. The goal? Earn the MOST points by the end of the week!

💥 HOW IT WORKS 💥
✅ Add points to YOUR grade by adding:
• Pennies
• Dollar bills
❌ Subtract points from OTHER grades by adding:
• Nickels
• Dimes
• Quarters

💰 POINT SYSTEM 💰
• Penny = +1 point
• $1 bill = +100 points
• $5 bill = +500 points
• $10 bill = +1,000 points

Silver coins count AGAINST the total:
• Nickel = -5 points
• Dime = -10 points
• Quarter = -25 points
