A Huge Thank You to Our Community! 🌟
Thank you to everyone who came out and spent time with our SHS Travel Club students as they shared about the many career opportunities and local businesses they had the chance to learn from throughout the summer.
Your support, encouragement, and interest mean so much to our students. These experiences help them explore future career paths, build confidence, and connect classroom learning to the real world.
We are incredibly grateful to all the businesses that opened their doors, shared their knowledge, and inspired our students along the way. And thank you to our community members for taking the time to listen, ask questions, and celebrate their hard work.
Three of these students, Connor, Raelyne, and Joseph, will receive scholarships towards their school travel to Washington, D.C. in 2028. They also raised money through their cookie dough fundraiser. We are happy KP joined us before he travels home soon, and Hunter was able to come along also.
We're proud of all our students and excited to see where their future journeys take them! ❤️✈️

🚒🎳🍪 Another great day for the SHS Summer Travel Club! 🍪🎳🚒
Today our travelers got an inside look at firefighting and emergency response classes at the Hutchinson Fire Science Academy Training Center. Students learned about the skills, equipment, and teamwork required.
After all that hard work, we headed to The Alley for some friendly competition, laughs, and fun! 🎳
We wrapped up the day with a visit to Little Ol’ Cookie House in Little River, where students learned more about the business behind the delicious cookie dough many of you purchased to support our future travels.
📢 REMINDER: If you ordered cookie dough from one of our travelers, pickup is TODAY from 4:00–6:00 p.m. at the 4-H Building. Please make arrangements with the student you purchased from if you are unable to pick up your order during that time.

Reminder to those of you who ordered cookie dough from one of our travelers: Pickup is tomorrow from 4:00–6:00 p.m. at the 4-H Building. If you are unable to pick up your order during that time, please make arrangements with the student you purchased from. 🍪

Also, our SHS Summer Travel Club presentation is coming up this Friday at 10:00 a.m.! Come hear our students share about the careers and job opportunities they discovered that are available close to home. We’re excited for them to showcase what they’ve learned and experienced throughout the program! 👏🏻

We are so happy that this group enjoyed their travel in Washington, D.C. Two of these students received SHS Travel Club scholarships and raised close to $500 additional funds during summer camp towards their travel! We currently have students attending camp for scholarships and raising funds for their 2028 travel! 🌞🚌 SHS Summer Travel Club Adventure Day! 🚌🌞

Today was packed with learning, exploring, and plenty of fun! Our SHS Summer Travel Club started the day at the BTI, where students gained valuable insights into career opportunities and technical education. We then traveled to the Pratt Education Center and Museum/Fish Hatchery, where we learned about local wildlife, conservation, and the important work being done to protect Kansas natural resources.

The adventure continued at Pratt Lake, where students enjoyed the beautiful weather after the rain. We did a lot of fishing, but unfortunately, no catching!

To wrap up the day, we stopped at Arby’s for a personalized behind-the-scenes tour led by SHS Trojan alumnus Jake Foster. Students learned about restaurant operations, management, and career pathways while enjoying a great visit with one of our own!

SHS Summer Travel Club spent the day soaking up summer at Hildebrand Farms Dairy and Milford Lake! 🐄
The baby calves and the state of the art milking robots were quite a site to see.
Then we spent some time playing Mermaids and having a picnic at the lake.
Come inquire about the robots that run the milking facility at our presentation on June 5th at 10AM at the Stafford Senior Center!

SHS Summer Travel Club took on Wichita today! ✈️ We explored the Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport, proved our athletic abilities (or lack thereof 😅) at All-Star Sports, and rewarded ourselves with Krispy Kreme donuts because cardio cancels out calories… right? 🍩⚾

Our A+ students survived airport security, friendly competition, and a serious sugar rush all in one day. Safe to say memories were made and donuts disappeared FAST! 😂 Find out who was in first place in GoKarts and Laser Tag on June 5th at 10am at the Stafford Senior Center.
