Brittney Dibben of Junction City FFA Chapter is the Kansas FFA Association Fiber and Oil Crop Production Proficiency Award winner. Her project was raising soybeans: maintaining machinery, scouting for pests, collecting soil and tissue samples and operating equipment during harvest.

Results are in and here’s how we did! Agricultural Sales placed 2nd in state, a huge accomplishment for our chapter! Agronomy continued a strong showing with an 8th place finish and Ag Communications placed 12th in this highly sought after event. Needless to say it was a great day for JC FFA! What a busy day for our state teams! We took Ag Communications, Agronomy and Ag Sales. We will find out on Tuesday, May 5th how we did!

Last week, the following students were announced as Kansas FFA Proficiency Finalists. Proficiency Awards are based on a student’s work in their supervised agricultural experience, or SAE, a work-based learning program. SAEs help members build and apply skills through job placement, research, service learning, or entrepreneurial interests in the agricultural industry.
