Hello Class of 1987!
Donny Allen, Judd McPherson and Jeff Stinnett have started trying to locate our classmates. They have started a WhatsApp group to stay in contact with each other. They have also started meeting for coffee at least once a month for the guys who are able to meet. So if anyone is interested in reunion information, share your contact information with us and if you are interested in joining the coffee group, let us know. Everyone is welcome (it’s only guys now but we would certainly welcome any classmates who want to join). Also, if you are interested in helping with our 40th Reunion next year, please let us know; we welcome all help. Looking forward to seeing everyone soon!

Dinner tonight at 6:30 at Old Chicago, 3320 Rangeline. It is a pasta, pizza and salad buffet with non-alcoholic beverages for $22 per person including tip and use of the banquet room. Their full-service bar is available but not included. Please bring cash because I have to settle it on one tab at the end. See you all there!

PS- bring your own cooler to McClelland Park for the after-dinner social gathering. 😊

SO, who remembers in 1985 when a few idiots poured liquid dish soap in the Spiva Park fountain and it overflowed onto and over all of Main Street? Downtown Joplin was shut down overnight while the Joplin Fire Department sprayed the soap down the storm drains (you could do that back then). WELL, us two and Jamie Settle MIGHT have been the culprits....

Assuming that we were responsible for it, we certainly didn't know that the soap would make that many suds! 😳

A couple of announcements:

Joplin High School has offered our 1987 graduates free admission to the game on Friday. We will have passes available at a table near the stadium entrance. Seating will be held for us at the North end of the home side bleachers.

Additionally, we have secured written permission from the City of Joplin to gather at McClelland Park after the Saturday night dinner until midnight for those that would like to finally be there after curfew legally 😊.

There was mention of the lack notifying everyone about the reunion. Student Council members are generally responsible for organizing class reunions. Since our student council never did that, Donny Allen and I stepped up and volunteered to do what we could to make sure that the JHS Class of 1987 has some sort of reunion. I guess that makes us "the organizers" 😊. There is no master list of students or their contact information. We rely heavily on classmates telling others about the reunion. Is relying on Facebook inclusive of everyone? No. Is it better than nothing? We hope so.

PLEASE PASS THE WORD TO CLASSMATES! We realize that not everyone uses Facebook, so we rely on you heavily to get word out. Thank you.
