Maybe your pits weren’t being dramatic. Maybe they had a point. 😂

Baking soda is REALLY good at fighting odor—which is exactly why it became such a popular ingredient in natural deodorant.

But effective doesn’t always mean skin-friendly.

Baking soda is alkaline, while your skin naturally prefers a more acidic environment. For some people, using it day after day—especially on skin that’s shaved, sweaty, rubbing against clothing, and generally living its best armpit life—can mean irritation, itching, burning, dryness, or the dreaded pit rash.
