Move of the week: Early Triangle Defense.
When your opponent shoots a triangle, block their attempts to grab your head and posture up. Protect your inside arm by gluing it to their leg and gripping your wrist. Bounce and turn toward the top leg to open space to rescue the trapped arm with the outside hand. Shooting your hands to the outside sets up an immediate double under pass.

BE PATIENT. A savvy opponent will look to transition to armlocks or sweeps when their initial triangle attempt is defended.

Survive first, then look to escape. 👊

MOTW: X Choke + Armbar Combo

This is a simple but effective move from the mount. To finish the cross choke, stay low and row with your back muscles with your elbows in.

If your opponent blocks your choke, do a little recon so that you know how he will defend. Commit to the Armbar as you reach and catch them by surprise. 🤙

When someone is extending their arms in the guard of someone who knows jiu-jitsu, they are asking for an Armbar!

There are number of different ways to perform the Armbar from the guard. This variation works very well when someone is being careless with their arms, and it leaves a very small window of opportunity for possible strikes. 👊
