Mama bear watching her cubs from the sidelines. ♥️
It’s not often that I am not in motion but what a candid shot caught by an OG. Thursday we started waving goodbye to Summer 2026 to make way for fall’s entrance very soon here in the Northeast with our beach theme night at the Inn. (Coastal Cowgirl is a vibe!) It was also symbolic of the upcoming transition of my weekly class to a great friend I met years ago through dance and now a beloved and respected instructor at Turquoise Fringe, effective September. Only THE BEST for my dancers and the venue who have both been so incredibly supportive, loyal, and professional to CCLD. It has always been my vision and goal to intentionally curate the best energies for our little dance world, which really is a community. It continues on.
After 4 years at the Airport Inn (I can count on one hand the Thursdays I took off over the last 200+ of them!) I am stepping back from the weekly lessons dynamic I have had for most of the (almost) 12 years teaching to focus on my new home and new family as we merge our households. My home sold in mere days 😳 so the move is coming fast and furious and construction continues at the new place, which I can now be of more help with. I have some old and new hobbies, and old and new friends, that I would love to carve out time for too that you don’t often have with two lines of work. (I have a full time job as the Director of Administration of a law firm that definitely keeps me busy.) Making sure Gatlin 🐕 and Jameson 🐈⬛ will be acclimating to the new digs too! Copper 🐴 is removed from the present moment chaos lol.
CCLD isn’t going anywhere! (In fact, I am at Freedom Fest in September!) You will see me dancing next to you at times, you may see me covering a class, you may even see a pop-up advanced night that CCLD is known for, and I am picking up select special events that support the local community in some way.
Bittersweet to get out of the normal Monday grind of what I am teaching, Tuesday practice, and Thursday running right from work straight to the Inn for sure! Change has always enchanted me, especially for wonderful things. It has been such a pleasure to see the personal growth of my dancers - beginners becoming experienced, falling in love, break ups that made better versions of themselves, marriages, babies, new careers, job changes, degrees earned, houses built. Thank you for the friendships made, support, miles on the boots, laughter, fun, creativity, and love. These too, continue on!
See ya on the floor… 😘
