Waldo International School is an IB accredited private school committed to academic and social-emotional success.
A Letter from the Director of Schools:
As the Director of World of ABC, The Waldo School, I am delighted to acquaint your family with our school. Since our inception, our facility has grown to house two programs. Children from infants through pre-k are housed in our early childhood program at World of ABC. Students in Kindergarten and older are part of our Primary School, The Waldo School. Locate
d in the heart of the Waldo section of the Jersey City Waterfront, World of ABC, The Waldo School, sets the standard for leading private education. By adopting and developing a highly innovative curriculum, our students are encouraged to explore and flourish while discovering and developing new talents. Through a heavy emphasis on evolving unique abilities, our students are inspired to grow as individuals, with no child forced to ascribe to one specific mold. Hence, there is no set criteria or mold for a “World of ABC Student,” rather students are challenged to explore and develop their curiosities Our students are presented with a number of resources, materials, off and on campus learning opportunities as well as a host of speakers chosen for excellence in a specific field. Our commitment is that every child receives an abundance of experiences that will work in layers with our curriculum. These layers not only compliment the learning process but aid in accelerating knowledge acquisition and expanding our students growing minds. All World of ABC class sizes remain at a reduced number. Preschool classes are paired with one Lead Teacher and one Assistant Teacher to ensure the lowest student to Teacher ratios found in Downtown Jersey City. While our elementary and middle schools have a lead teacher for a maximum of 12 students. Due to our dramatically decreased ratios, our students are able to master skills and learn at an accelerated rate, with many of our students testing one to two grade levels ahead of their peers. The faculty at World of ABC have been carefully selected for their position with us. After an exhaustive application and interviewing process, a small few are hand selected to join our team of educators. They are chosen based on their own personal academics, wealth of experience and contributions to the educational field. Many of our faculty have been with us since the schools inception and have had the opportunity to grow within our network. Our program offers many opportunities for children to discover new interests. Students are exposed to a number of different activities which they can choose to join. Clubs and Groups are introduced to students progressively to ensure the occurrence of age appropriate learning. Below, please find of list of our most popular Clubs and Groups:
Chess Club
Robotics Group

Further curriculum enhancements are offered to students weekly such as Ballet, Music Class, Soccer, Martial Arts, European Etiquette, Gymnastics and more! Our facility is home to 21st century technology, complete with a laptop enriched computer lab as well as ipad and smart board technology. Our airy classrooms, infused with sunlight and an eco friendly interior containing sustainable toys and equipment with multiple green elements are home to a student body that keeps environmental impact at the forefront of the decisions they make both at school and at home. Also offered is our Organic and all natural food program, with meals prepared and provided by a local organic chef. Dedicated to housing all components under one roof, our school is home to 4 outdoor gross motor and science spaces as well as 2 indoor gymnasiums. Our goal is to work with families to help develop their child into a self-confident, independent thinker that understands social responsibility and giving back to others. Even our youngest of learners will be enveloped in a program rich with multiculturalism and a wealth of opportunities to learn about cultures throughout the world as well as within our own student body. In celebrating each childs unique and extraordinary differences, we teach our students tolerance, acceptance and about the humanistic harmonic chord that thrives within each of them. Our students and their families remain at the forefront of every decision that we make. We encourage family involvement in our school as well. Through Parent Committees, Multicultural Family Nights, our Annual Science Symposium and private publication- World of ABC Mommies, we strive to continuously look for ways to keep our families connected to the school. Our Alumni Association plays a vital role in keeping graduated and past students and their families involved in our Waldo community. Annual Alumni events, communication message board and newsletter are just a few ways the students and their families can remain connected to our growing community of Alumni. I hope this snapshot of World of ABC, The Waldo School, has been informative for you. We look forward to becoming acquainted with your family.

One of the most meaningful parts of celebrating Read Across America was welcoming our amazing guest readers—especially our wonderful Waldo parents—into the classroom.
There is something powerful and magical about students seeing their parents sit in their classroom and read to the them. When parents read in their child’s classroom, it does so much more than tell a story. It helps students see that reading is important both at school and at home. It builds confidence, strengthens the connection between families and teachers, and shows children that their learning is supported by an entire community.
These special moments create lasting memories for our students while inspiring a love of books, imagination and learning. We are so thankful to all guest readers for coming to support our students’ learning!

🤺 As an IB school, we are committed to providing a well-rounded education that gives our students opportunities to excel, succeed, and open doors for their future. 🎓
🤺Did you know that fencing is part of our school’s curriculum? We offer fencing in addition to our regular Physical Education classes!
Fencing is a powerful and unique sport that supports both physical and intellectual growth. This sport builds focus, discipline, coordination, and quick decision-making, while also teaching students respect, sportsmanship, and self-confidence. What we truly appreciate in this “physical chess,” is that fencing challenges students to think strategically and stay calm under pressure!
