❓ *Why do we consider the celebration of the Prophet’s Birthday (Mawlid) an innovation (bid'ah)?*

👈🏻 *Because:*

▪️ There is not a single verse from the Book of Allah, nor a single hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family)—whether authentic or weak—nor any report from a single Companion—whether authentic or weak—regarding the celebration of the Prophet’s Birthday.

▪️ The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not hold this celebration for himself, nor did any of his Companions or his family hold it for him during his lifetime.

▪️ Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) ruled for two years and did not celebrate the Prophet’s Birthday, even though he was the *Siddiq* (Truthful One) of the Ummah and the Prophet’s companion in the Cave!

▪️ Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) ruled for ten years and did not celebrate the Prophet’s Birthday, even though he was the *Faruq* (Distinguisher between truth and falsehood) of the Ummah and the one inspired with wisdom!

▪️ Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) ruled for thirteen years and did not celebrate the Prophet’s Birthday, even though he was the husband of the Prophet’s two daughters, the one who undertook the two migrations, and the most modest person in this Ummah!

▪️ Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) ruled for four years and did not celebrate the Prophet’s Birthday, even though he was the cousin of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) and the husband of his daughter Fatimah—the leader of the women of the people of Paradise!

▪️ Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) ruled and did not celebrate the Prophet’s Birthday, even though he was a scribe of the Revelation and one of the best rulers of Islam!

▪️ Al-Hasan and Al-Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them) did not celebrate the birthday of their grandfather, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), even though they are the leaders of the youth of the people of Paradise! ▪️ The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) passed away while the number of Companions exceeded one hundred thousand—may Allah be pleased with them all—yet not a single one of them celebrated his birthday!

▪️ Likewise, none of the *Tabi‘un* (the generation following the Companions) celebrated the birthday of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family).

▪️ Furthermore, none of the four renowned Imams—Abu Hanifa, Malik, Al-Shafi‘i, and Ahmad—celebrated the birthday of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family).

✔️ Had it been a good deed, they would have certainly preceded us in doing it.

💡 If the interpretation of the evidence cited by those who permit the *Mawlid* celebration—such as fasting on Mondays and the like—were correct, these eminent scholars would have cited it; their failure to adopt this understanding indicates that it is a flawed one.

💡 We echo the words of Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him): "That which was not considered part of the religion during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions cannot be considered part of the religion today."

💡 It is a matter of absolute certainty that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not depart for the Hereafter until Allah had perfected the religion for him and completed His favor upon him! {This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion.}

💡 He (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) warned against introducing innovations into the religion and against performing acts that neither he nor his Companions had done, stating: "Whoever introduces into this matter of ours that which is not part of it, it is rejected."

💡 Know—may Allah have mercy on you—that throughout the "three preferred generations" (*al-qurun al-mufaddalah*), there was no such thing known as the celebration of the Prophet’s birthday (*Mawlid al-Nabawi*). In the authentic Hadith, it is stated: "The best of people are those of my generation, then those who follow them, then those who follow them." Should not what sufficed for them suffice for us?

💡 From this, you realize that those who celebrate the Prophet’s birthday (Mawlid) possess not a single piece of evidence from the Qur’an, the Sunnah, scholarly consensus (Ijma‘), the actions of the Companions, or valid analogy (Qiyas). Rather, all they have are the statements of scholars who erred, and they have blindly followed them in that error.

❓ *Here are four questions for those who celebrate the Prophet’s birthday:*

1️⃣ *First Question:* Is the act of celebrating the Mawlid an act of obedience or an act of disobedience?
▪️ If you say it is an act of disobedience for which we incur sin, then the dispute with you is resolved.
▪️ Or do you say it is an act of obedience for which we are rewarded?

2️⃣ *Second Question:* Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) know of this act of obedience, or was he unaware of it?
▪️ We do not suppose you would say he was unaware of it. So, if you say he *did* know of it...

3️⃣ *Third Question:* Regarding an act of obedience for which a Muslim is rewarded and which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) knew about—did he convey it to the Ummah or not?
▪️ We do not suppose you would say he knew of it but did not convey it, for that would imply an accusation against the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) of concealing part of the Message: {O Messenger, announce that which has been revealed to you from your Lord, and if you do not, then you have not conveyed His message...}
▪️ And if you say he *did* convey it, we ask: Where is the evidence for this in his own words (peace and blessings be upon him)? ...and [peace be upon him]?

❗️ If you were to present evidence to us...

4️⃣ *We move to the fourth question:* Did this evidence escape the notice of the Companions, the Successors, and the generation following them—throughout the three virtuous centuries—only for *you* to discover it?!
▪️ Or did they know of it yet abandon it—failing to act upon it—while *you* were the ones guided to put it into practice?!

▫️ We ask Allah the Almighty, Lord of the Mighty Throne, to guide us all to the sound truth and the straight path.
▪️ May Allah’s peace and blessings be upon our Prophet, our beloved, our master, and the delight of our eyes—Muhammad bin Abdullah—and upon his family, his Companions, his wives, and those who follow his guidance until the Day of Judgment.

May God protect you from relapse during virtuous times.
This one prays, this one reads the Quran, and that one gives charity.
This one remembers his Lord and maintains kinship ties.
And you just stand there doing nothing.
There are only days left in Ramadan, or rather moments, that will pass like the wind. Strive and show God all the beauty from you, and He, the Almighty, will reward you for your good deeds.

Do not let your spirits and determination wane until you reach the last night of Ramadan. Remember that deeds are judged by their endings, and the rewards are still there!
Freedom from Hellfire, forgiveness of sins, and victory on the Night of Decree!
The successful one is the one who corrects the negligence of the beginning with a good ending, catches up with the group, and wins the race.

Make_Your_Life_Seek "There is no room for slackness!"

Stand up, struggle with yourself, and compel yourself to obey.

This could be your last Ramadan!
