Clarissa's Neighborhood Music

Clarissa's Neighborhood Music Offering instruction in piano, woodwinds, and various instruments in the Eugene/Jefferson City area. Clarissa Kosmak Stokes earned her B.M.

Degree in instrumental performance from E. Tennessee State University and her M.M. Performance (clarinet) from Mercer University, Townsend School of Music, Macon, Georgia. She is the recipient of many awards and honors, some of which include: Semper Fidelis Award for Outstanding Musicianship, John Philip Sousa Award, Academic Performance Music Scholarship Winner of the Mercer University Orchestra

Concerto Competition, and in 2009 received the Bibb County (Georgia) Golden Apple Teaching Award in music. In 2008 she was selected to perform in the National Collegiate Wind Ensemble at Carnegie Hall. In the past she regularly performed with GLOE, has performed with 5th Street Philharmonic Orchestra, and several orchestras across the US in Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Georgia, and Missouri. Currently Clarissa is the administrator of the Columbia Civic Orchestra where she performs regularly. Currently she is welcoming and excepting all ages and playing abilities from beginner to advanced in piano and clarinet. Meet Clarissa Kosmak, Columbia Civic's Administrator and Treasurer!

Clarissa has been with CCO for 2 years. In addition to being CCO's administrator and treasurer, she has subbed within the orchestra and now is a full time member of the clarinet section for this concert series.

Clarissa enjoys painting, teaching piano and clarinet lessons, and hanging out with her daughter. Her favorite orchestral piece is Symphony Fantastique by Hector Berlioz and also enjoys music from the Romantic era.

Join us for more member spotlights later this week! We look forward to seeing you all at our opening concert on October 25th at 5 p.m.
