What are the 6 R's of grant writing:
1. Research-an important part of your grant writing process is researching "who" is funding the grant.
2. Readiness-be sure to read closely for the expectations of the funder (requirements) and assess if your business is qualified to meet those requirements
3-Writing-this word doesn't necessarily start with the letter "R" but it is likely one of the most important pieces of a successful grant. Use your resources (internet, colleages, etc.); have clear goals/objectives; be concise; and share your passion/mission
4-Budget-be certain to include a budget that encompasses everything mentioned in words that will immediately (or in the near future) involve some type of costs
5- Reviewer-seek an expert reviewer to proof the document prior to submission
6-Relationships-continually network throughout the year to assist with learning of new grant opportunities and there are other advantages (*I will do another post and share much more on this!)
In this picture, I had my participants to share their thoughts on the important elements of grant writing during our "group activity" time.
Of course there is much, much more to grant writing but this is a brief overview. "Like" my page to learn more.
