Day 8 was a blast! For our last day in Costa Rica, we traveled from Jaco through Sarchi on our way back to San Jose. In Sarchi we toured a hydroelectric ox cart factory, watched highly skilled artisans decorate beautiful hand made goods, and we saw the world's largest ox cart. At night we enjoyed an evening of food and folk dancing in the mountains above San Jose. We'll miss you, Costa Rica!

Day 7 was absolutely awesome! We spent the entire day at the beach enjoying the Pacific Ocean. We saw plenty of macaws, fish, raccoons, a sting ray, and iguanas galore! Tomorrow we head for San Jose to end our tour. Pura vida!

This crocodile’s name is Captain Hook! He was really interested in our tour today. He’s named because another crocodile bit off one of his front legs in a fight. He’s fifteen feet long and 90 years old.

Today was day 6 in Costa Rica, and we really made it count! We woke up in Monte Verde, and traveled two hours by bus to the Pacific Ocean, where we spotted wildlife on a Crocodile Boat Cruise. After we saw some crocodiles (up close and personal!), we visited the Rainforest Adventure Park to ride a tram up a mountain through the rainforest canopy and observe the butterfly life cycle in a butterfly garden.

Day 5 was fantastic! After a great breakfast in Monte Verde, we hiked Santa Elena Cloud Forest, zip lined at Xtreme Adventure Park, and toured Equus Eco Farm to milk cows, learn about sustainable farming, and make our own tortillas and empanadas.

Day 4 in Costa Rica has come to an end! We started our day in La Fortuna and visited the Arenal Volcano National Park, where we hiked through the rainforest to arrive at a spectacular view of the Arenal Volcano. Then we traveled three hours by bus to Monte Verde, where we had some free time in this beautiful town and enjoyed some great meals. After dark, we explored the rainforest at night with expert guides who showed us a boa constrictor, vipers, many large insects, a frog, an olingo, and a porcupine- all in their natural habitat. Pura Vida!

Day 2 is in the books! We started out in San Jose and traveled by bus across the Continental Divide to La Fortuna. Along the route, we toured the Doka Coffee Plantation to learn about all things coffee. In the town of La Fortuna we endured a midday rainstorm and finally ended our evening with a salsa dance class.
