This is no easy feat! The Intuit Certified Bookkeeping Specialist exam is a rigorous, industry-recognized credential that proves these students have mastered foundational accounting principles and professional bookkeeping practices. The exam covers:
-Accounting Basics: Double-entry bookkeeping, tracking assets, liabilities, and equity.
-Business Transactions: Managing accounts payable/receivable, payroll essentials, and ledger reconciliation.
-Financial Reporting: Creating and analyzing crucial business documents like balance sheets and income statements.

Stop #3 on our Craftsman with Character business tour week brought us to Seneca Foods Corp - Janesville where we checked out the world of food processing! Thank you Seneca for the eye opening tour. We were spoiled with donuts and a goodie bag too!

What an incredible day at the 5th Annual SMA Signing Day!
We were proud to celebrate 33 students and their employer sponsors as they begin careers in manufacturing. With more than 250 attendees, this was our biggest Signing Day to date and a celebration of the growing momentum behind manufacturing careers and workforce development.
A big thank you to our employer partners, educators, families, sponsors and community supporters who helped make the day so special.

Congratulations to Joseph Austin, SCWBA Direct to Workforce Scholarship Recipient, hired by Westphal & Company!
Joseph was a SCWBA Student Build participant from School District of Janesville, WI Advanced Construction class. After graduation, Joseph was hired by a SCWBA member company while awaiting his acceptance into the electrical union. Westphal & Company provided to SCWBA Joseph's letter of support, confirming his employment commitment and sharing accolades for his work ethic and performance.
