We do the best we can for whatever little time we’re HONORED to know them. Wally had multiple sites of infection that destroyed significant amounts of bone. There’s no fix for that. The only choice was humane euthanasia.
Wally clearly spent his life in service of animal agriculture and the almighty dollar, the same as BILLIONS of other pigs just like him. They’re different colors, different personalities, and different parts of the world, but they all serve the same master. Every dollar we spend on animal products is a vote for animal agriculture and suffering. It’s that simple. Your dollar is your vote. Wally was discarded because he was injured. He was left to suffer and disposed of like trash. What could possibly justify that? Nothing.
We helped end Wally’s suffering today after he slept in a cozy bed last night and saw the vet team today. They treated him gently. They admired his handsome face. They walked him home with kindness and compassion. That’s the best we can do for this one🙁.
See you on the other side, sir. It was a pleasure to know you if only briefly. You earned a wind chime on Solsbury Hill🫶
Special thanks to the humans who answered messages, tried to help, made endless calls, and scrounged for the FEW resources we have in the rural south. Thanks, as always, to our compassionate vet team . Biggest thanks to the nice man who helped Wally stay cool and fed and comfortable until we could get to him.
