Among many great resources offered by TEA, the New Teacher Handbook is by far the most popular one at the beginning of every school year.

Please share with your new colleagues and let potential members know that it's available exclusively to TEA members.

To access on the TEA website, go to the Members drop-down menu and select Sign In. Sign in using your TEA membership ID. Once you are signed in, you will see a menu on the left side of the page with My Profile, My Resources, and Log Out. Click My Resources. In the keyword search, enter New Teacher Handbook. The handbook should appear in the search results for you to access. Because the handbook is a members-only resource, it will only appear after you have signed in.

This week, something powerful happened in Tennessee. HB 2226/SB2445, legislation that would have repealed the Professional Educators Collaborative Conferencing Act (PECCA), was defeated. And the reason is simple: Working together works.

Educators and communities across Tennessee defended their voice!

Thank you to all members and community supporters for contacting their legislators. We thank the legislators who voted to protect collaboration between school districts and professional educators — a key element in building the best public schools for all students.
