If you’re a coach, parent, mentor, teacher, or anyone responsible for guiding the younger generation, and your message is always, ‘Do as I say, not as I do,’ then you need to ask yourself one question: How are YOU living?

Young people don’t just listen to what we tell them—they watch what we do. The example we set will always speak louder than the advice we give.”

Tonight was a special moment for me. I had the opportunity to present Coach Floyd Mason with a Lifetime Appreciation Award from PUSH THRU TRACK CLUB. 🏆❤️

Coach Mason is more than just my former track coach—he was a mentor who helped shape me as an athlete, a coach, and a man. A lot of what I’m pouring into these young athletes today comes from things that he poured into me years ago.

It meant a lot to be able to give him his flowers and let him know that his impact is still being felt through another generation of athletes.

And y’all pardon my voice and all the bouncing around in the video 😂 I was getting a little emotional. This one meant more to me than I can really put into words.

Thank you, Coach Mason, for the lessons, the mentorship, and the example you set. Your legacy continues.

WE WORK. WE WIN. WE PUSH THRU. 🏃🏾‍♂️🔥🏆

THE 10,000-HOUR RULE ⏳💯

The 10,000-hour rule is the popular idea that reaching an elite level of skill in something can take around 10,000 hours of focused, intentional practice. It’s not a guaranteed magic number, but the bigger message is powerful: mastery takes time, repetition, discipline, and consistency.

Now put 10,000 hours into perspective:

1 hour a day = 27+ years
2 hours a day = 13+ years
4 hours a day = almost 7 years
8 hours a day = about 3.5 years

And 10,000 hours nonstop would equal 416 days and 16 hours!

Think about that.

You don’t become great overnight. You become great by putting in the work day after day, year after year, especially when nobody is watching.

Whether it’s coaching, fitness, education, business, sports, or simply becoming a better version of yourself—KEEP PUTTING IN THE HOURS.

The time is going to pass anyway. 💪🏾🔥

WE WORK. WE WIN. WE PUSH THRU.

Karissa Owen’s from PUSH THRU TRACK CLUB at the USATF national meet in Norwalk, California.

From North Carolina to the NATIONAL STAGE! 🏃🏾‍♀️🔥

At just 13 years old, Karissa Owens earned the opportunity to compete against some of the best young athletes in the country at the USATF Junior Olympic Nationals.

This season she showed what she’s capable of, running 12.49 in the 100m and 25.86 in the 200m, while continuing to grow and improve as an athlete.

At Nationals, Karissa finished tied for 27th overall in the 100m with a 13.05 and ran 26.32 in the 200m, finishing 35th overall.

Nationals may not have produced the results she was looking for, but getting there was an accomplishment in itself. Now we know what the national level looks like and what it’s going to take to come back even stronger.

Hard work. Dedication. Consistency. Growth.

We’ll take the lessons, put the work in, and WE WILL BE BACK! 💪🏾🔥

Proud of you, Karissa. Hold your head high. This journey is just getting started.

WE WORK. WE WIN. WE PUSH THRU. 🏆
