Today, during Social Work Month, we honor and celebrate Dr. Jasmine D. Haynes—a scholar, educator, and changemaker who embodies what it means to approach social work with both depth and purpose. 💙✨
Dr. Haynes has never taken a traditional path—and that is exactly what makes her impact so powerful. As an Assistant Professor of Social Work, her work boldly lives at the intersection of policy, racial theory, trauma-informed practice, and community engagement.
Her research centers on race-conscious, trauma-informed approaches, challenging systems to not only acknowledge trauma—but to understand how racial inequities and systemic oppression shape lived experiences.
Through her work, Dr. Haynes reminds us that trauma is not just individual—it can be historical, structural, and racialized, requiring solutions that are rooted in both healing and justice.
