This was definitely the year of being so extra (if that reference still hits) and I couldn’t get enough. I was too star struck to get pics of everyone. The ladies brought it with gigantic princess tulle skirts (and a bustle or two), embellished sweetheart corsets, crowns, veils/face chains and masks, and so much sequins. The men came with velvet jackets with sequins, paisley jackets/vests/ties, formal cowboy hats, the classic black-on-black look, and there was a pink suit with rhinestones on the lapel and down the arms/legs. I’m obsessed with it all. I@hope you had a great ✨

I was so lucky to get to chaperone some amazing students on a trip to Tallahassee to speak to Senators and Representatives about the proposed bill to cut 50% of funds to AP/DE/IB/AICE/CTE programs. I could take up this entire space sharing my thoughts on this bill, but I’d rather talk these students.

These students (representing CTE academies, AP classes, Dual Enrollment classes, and the IB program) walked the halls of the Florida Capitol, sharing how these programs have changed their lives and set them up for successful futures. And it’s these programs that gave them the skills and confidence necessary to do that. I was and am so proud, but also in awe, of their maturity, poise, and professionalism (not that I was expecting anything less from them).

People are so quick to complain about “kids these days” and “this generation”….well, I don’t know the students *they’re* dealing with, but the ones I know are trying to protect their future. 💕

Field trip to was *SO* great!! Gorgeous weather, adorable animals, breathtaking views, wonderful questions/tour, and my AP Human students got to experience agribusiness/agritourism at work (Unit 5).
