Happy Mother’s Day to all of our roping moms! We hope you all have the best day!

Reflecting back on this event has brought about so many emotional thoughts, most pertaining to ropers and families coming together from as far as 10 hours away to support some extra special children and to be a part of an extra special weekend.

This picture was a quick snap on the fly, and I felt it shows the rawest part of roping, 💙I feel that is more important than prizes. It’s keeping our lives centered around what’s most important as we come together as fellow ropers, and leave as friends.

Then as I was scrolling through Facebook looking at others pictures, I noticed something that a fellow horsewoman said about this Kentucky Derby. I felt it most fitting for our event as well since it’s always been on the first Saturday in May…

“… Also here’s an unsolicited reminder that you can never dream too big. It’s been proven SO. MANY. TIMES. on the first Saturday in May!”

This kid was so fun to watch! What an incredible roper with a bright future in team roping!! He had so many people cheering for him from both the arena and the stands!

51 teams came back to the short round to duke it out for a new truck, laying it all on the line. It was a marathon roping, starting at 9am and ending at 10:30pm, but it was all in support of the children with great prizes as pure bonuses.
