Last night, TFA proudly competed in the World Affairs Council Academic WorldQuest Competition hosted by the World Affairs Council — and what an incredible experience it was!

For the first time ever, TFA brought two teams of four students to compete against 60 other teams, representing schools from across the region. From start to finish, our students were engaged, energized, and inspired. In their own words, they had an amazing time — and every single one of them wants to participate again next year!

The competition challenged students to think critically about global issues, current events, and international affairs — pushing them to expand their understanding of the world in exciting and meaningful ways. It was truly a wonderful opportunity for growth, teamwork, and global learning.

A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Clifford for giving these students such an incredible opportunity to learn about what’s happening in the world through such a unique and engaging after-school club experience. Your dedication makes opportunities like this possible!

We are also grateful to the University of North Florida for hosting the event at the beautiful Adam W. Herbert University Center.

2 of our students loved their shadow day at JU’s Marine science center so much they went back for a second!! Thank you Jacksonville University for hosting our students and pouring into the next generation of Marine biologists.

Our students had an incredible Shadow Day at Jacksonville University Marine Science Center, diving into the world of Marine Biology! 🌊🐠 They explored careers in the field, learned hands-on from experts, and discovered the amazing work happening in marine science.

A huge thank you to Dr. Gerry Pinto, Myfwc Fish and Wildlife Research Institute, St. Johns Riverkeeper, and the JU Science & Research Center for making this day so engaging and informative! 💙

Our high school students spent the day at LG Interior Design Collective for an exciting shadow experience. They got a behind-the-scenes look at how a professional design firm operates, learned about the creative process from concept to installation, and discovered what it takes to run a successful interior design business. Students left inspired, informed, and excited about the possibilities in the design world!

All seniors—and select juniors—have the opportunity to participate in career exploration days with companies partnering with Studio School. These experiences, including job shadowing and mock interviews, help students build professional etiquette, confidence, and real-world insight. As we continue to nurture the musical talents of our young musicians at TFA, we find ourselves in need of a crucial piece of equipment that can greatly enhance their experience - a drum shield.

A drum shield is not just a protective barrier; it's a tool that allows our young drummers to practice and perform at their best while minimizing noise levels, ensuring a more harmonious environment for everyone involved.

Due to the overwhelming interest this year, Mr. Ken’s music class is in need of guitars. If you have one you can donate or loan to the school, please email [email protected].

Either type of guitar will work but they would prefer electric as that is what the school already has. That way the students are all learning on the same type of guitar.

Due to the potential storm headed our way TFA has decided to follow DCPS and close Tue, Weds & Thurs. We will return to school on Friday, Sep 1st! Aftercare is still open today, Monday the 28th. Stay safe and we will see you soon!
