Hey y'all, we had the best time on Monday, during our food dehydration class. Ruth Baugh provided lots of information on tools, supplies, samples of dehydrated vegetables, fruits, and herbs. A great take-away from the training is the efficiency, easy to learn, and cost effectiveness of dehydration. We hope you enjoy these photos from Day One.

We are at 603 N. Ragsdale again today, Day 2, from 1:30- 3:30 pm. Come on over! You will be glad that you did.

Hey Everyone,

We, at YOU EMPOWER teamed up with Baugh Market for our 2nd Annual Food Preservation Event. We met the owner, Ruth Baugh several months ago, during an excellent training that she conducted, at the Texas Extension Association Conference. Later, we visited with her at the wedding chapel. When you meet her- make sure she share the wonderful story about the chapel. Ruth delivery and marketing strategy is one-of- kind and awe-inspiring. Hop over to her website and page for more on Baugh Market. You will be glad that you did.

The 2nd Annual Food Preservation Event will kick-off on Monday, June 19 – that’s right – Juneteenth! And, Ruth will be there on this date training on preserving food through dehydration. What better way than celebrating by embracing a method of food preservation that provides food security.

Nevertheless, we are having a finger-licking down home lunch to celebrate Juneteenth, as well. Everyone that RSVP for all classes will participate in the lunch and have a chance for food preserving incentives and terrific door prizes. RSVP today!

I hope you all enjoy these photos as much as we did being involved in the activities. The latter Spring and beginning Summer months of May and June were very busy and exciting with multiple class graduations, growing the summer vegetables at the community garden and farming academy, and helping local residents create their own vegetable gardens. Wow! Thank you for your patience.

Don’t forget our food preservations classes are June 19 – 22 ! More to come.

The latter Spring and beginning Summer months of May and June were very busy and exciting with multiple class graduations, growing the summer vegetables at the community garden and farming academy, and helping local residents create their own vegetable gardens. Wow! So much was going on...I showed up at one graduation in my garden hat... I was en route to the garden and remembered the graduation! I had double-booked my schedule, lol! Thanks everyone for your patience. :)
